The forum has been a little slow lately, so I'm posting a photo of the great poster that came with my Castle #3666.  Compare it to the current poster of the Romans that comes with the trireme.
Literally, they don't make 'em like they used to.

PS. I didn't bother photographing the poster of the Romans.  You can see it more or less on the USA 2007 catalog.

it is difficult to resist the new photoshop "filtered" approach. :-[
like you, i prefer these old beautiful "manual" posters. :)

There's a lot of detail, and I can spend a few minutes looking at all the little ideas and humour the designer threw in.
The Roman Photoshop poster, by comparison, is just that long column marching out of the arena with a lot of ships in the water.  To be fair, if you look closely at the triremes, no two are alike, but there's no flavor or mood, like in the night time medieval poster.

I agree, the newer pictures show less imagination and humour. It's as if the old designers enjoyed their work, while the new brigade just want to get the job done with the least creative input possible.
I know we moan about things going a bit downhill at Playmobil since Hans Beck retired, but I don't think anyone would argue that the new posters are better.

I just think that the poster currently show what's on offer - while the old sets showed more what the full potential is of the sets. But that's just my 0.01 worth  ;)
