German cat here: https://www.playmobil.de/content/katalogviewer/KatalogViewer.html
My wallet passed out with the prices for the skeletons... Do they expect people to buy 20 of those to get a series? Or 30? Or more? I don't understand.
Loads of great stuff there.
I believe the collector activities for next year should involve.... banks. Just sayin'. >:D
Still more gawking to be done ;D
-
A lot of fantastic stuff is coming.
-
I simply must have the Sternengucker and the Eisangler.
Novelmore clearly going to be released as dyads - fire/water, now death/life.
-
I'll need the VW mini and van, immediately ;D
It's interesting to see the modern city street theme is getting an extension. It's very reminiscent of the modular Western buildings and a large street or even village with a variety of these could end up looking amazing. Stackability is key, to allow for a nice skyline.
Thanks for the link! <*)

The astrologer is indeed wonderful. Otherwise ... a lot is too wild for me. Interesting nevertheless. Thanks for flagging this up!

Noticeable price step this year. With economies flat I don't know if those are going to work. Considering how frequent discounting has been this year I wonder if they are moving to a retail model where they deliberately price items high knowing they will be marked down 25% frequently? It's not an uncommon practice.

I'm wondering if someone there is pulling a "Big"...
I can't get over the surprise skeletons...

I like these sets, but it seems a bit strange that they've got rid of the original ones so the stackability is sort of lost (especially because the two new ones are very similar and don't have pitched roofs or anything you can mix and match really), so it feels a bit of a missed oppurtunity.
The astrologer is lovely. I also like the Street Statue figure all in Gold.
Thanks for the link Tahra!

Yeah the street performer is neat, shows there's still some original thinking among the Gnomes of Zirndorf. :elf:

I'm keeping my expenditure down by concentrating on the new train stuff.
-
It's gone now. Someone made a mistake posting it I'm sure. It usually doesn't come out until ToyFair. I wish I had downloaded it yesterday so I could get a start on sorting any new animals. If anyone grabbed a download copy please message me so I can gets a copy?

I believe my wallet would approve.

PM sent....
But seriously... another "serious" mistake?!

Thansk Tahra!
That Aqua Park theme is kind of wild. The Crepe-cart looks like it has individual bananas, plus a folding crepe. That fish mascot outfit!! One new random fish there.
Surprising to not see more of the Kleine Stadt series in the catalog. Maybe they will move it to add-ons.

I was lucky enough to see the golden street performer special. Really amazing!!!!!
-
So, the Pirates Theme is... gone!! :o
It´s latest iteration dates to spring-2020 and so all the new sets did not even last a year... ???
There is a new Special Plus pirate for 2021 and they are releasing a (very) small 'take-along box-something' this month (Dec), but I can´t believe there will be again a whole new Pirates theme coming 2nd half 2021, less then a year after the previous update ??
After Western, the second major theme since the early days (not counting Victorian, which was born late 80s) that goes to the bin?
Another 'End of an era' ?! :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:

I think it's important to keep in mind this is a pandemic era catalog. Things may well pop back up again later, or be available in shops or online for a while, but not shown up in the catalog due to current conditions. They are probably making decisions based on what is currently selling best and limiting production. That has happened at my work where we have dropped certain lines for this winter to take pressure off of production, allowing concentration on the most popular items.

I have posted a blog post with an overview of the animals seen in the new catalog.

Mostly recolors, but there is one new mold - a new pony style (type 4)

Strangely enough, some of the new items in the 2021 Catalog are already available to be bought off the Belgian Playmobil website.
I noticed because I had my eye on the new modular city shop buildings. There's the burger shop and the doctor's office and a few city park sets.
The titles and descriptions of the sets are still in English :eh?:

USA 2021 is now online http://playmobil.a.bigcontent.io/v1/static/KATALOG_USA_2021 (http://playmobil.a.bigcontent.io/v1/static/KATALOG_USA_2021)

And the German 2021 catalog is back up at the link from the first post, FYI.
-
Whoa! Seems like many of the new sets coming out in Germany will also be available in Canada THIS year as well like the new dino, police and Novelmore sets.
For the first time, the Canadian catalog isn't for the full year, but from January to July, just like they do in Germany.
Is 2021 the year where everything comes out at the same time for the whole world? Maybe it's their way to apologize for not giving use the Space Police and Top Agents themes.
-
They do seem to be doing more new themes worldwide than they used to. I am disappointed in not seeing Space Police in the US, as I was for not seeing the last 2 farm themes.
-
The Minstrel amongst the series 19 figures reminds me of Alan-a-Dale from the Robin Hood stories 8-) And nice to see the Sea Captain from the Fisherman's Friend advertising campaign ;D
