???
when i checked tne playmobil.de site to see if some of the new pirates' sets were already included i realized an entire page of the piraten family went missing.
does this mean they were "discontinued"?
apart form the "new" (everyone already knows them) sets you can only find d.s. stuff and the 2 boxes (microwelt and take-along chest).
i didn't quite recall all the sets that appeared in the missing page but i am quite sure the big 3940 boat, the 3939 bunch and the 3937 fishing pitrate were there.
as i am only into pirates i was not able the see if something like this happened with other families.
i am kind of sad. i know that sooner or later this was bound to happen but still, i am sad.

Yes - they've been discontinued - but they're still on the GB site, so if you still need them, grab them while you can.
They've certainly added stuff elsewhere though to make up, and there'll be the Spanish Soldiers along soon. The Pirate theme isn't dying yet.

the pirates' theme will never die.
playmobil has the answer for this question.
if you analize the co-relation of forces between them and the royal navy and spanish conquistadores you can see they will never be boarded.

Old pirates never die, they just turn from Blackbeard the Terror of the Seven Seas to Greybeard the Terror of the Post Office Queue.

i hope you not are talking about richard, our moderator... ;)

I agree - the Pirate theme is far too popular for Playmobil to consider wiping it out completely.
The retirement of certain sets is sad but - as we all know - it has to be done to make way for the new Pirate stuff. :yup: <:>

we can conclude that in the plastic world the "darwin" theory is slightly different: for a species to survive, all its members have to die while they are replaced for entirely new ones. :'(
no survival of the fittest for klickies ... :(
