Apparently the new german cat is out...
link on klickywelt (http://www.klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php?f=16&p=993562) (think you need to be logged on)
The most surprising thing is, imo, the set numbers... FIVE digits! :o :o :o

Aw, I have no login. But whoa, FIVE digits! :o

The pictures seem to be taken from the new catalogue, I checked Playmobil.de , but the digital version is unfortunately not online yet. I will keep checking it!

I kind of like the new store fronts, but finally we reach a point where my wallet can take a little break
-
A strange blend of the traditional - Western - sets and the ultra-modern in the main themes.
-
The store fronts look nice. They look modular, so I won't have room to store them, but I'm sure lots of kids will enjoy them!

Note that amc has put the Western sets under the wrong title, they should have been put under "DICIEMBRE 2018 Nuevas referencias Oeste (70012 y 70013)" instead of "ENERO 2019 Nuevas referencias City (70014-70017)" ;)

Baby white dolphin. Robot fish! Weird shark hat. Really like that drill submarine thing. Space Police!
Interesting that they didn't go to the 10000 numbers but jumped all the way to 70000.
So for trivia fans the first set with a 5 digit number is a Fairy themed boat with white dolphins. I would have thought they would save it for something like a Funpark themed truck or something else special and self referential, but I guess they don't think that way.

Ouch. ;D
Should I überhaupt go have a look at the novelties? :P
-
It seems the Gnomes of Zurich have heeded my warnings about the terrors of the Brandstätterdämmerung (aka the Playmocalypse) and have taken steps to delay it by incrementing the number of digits in their set ID codes. Good work Gnomes! :)9

Yes! New Top Agents sets.
That drill sub looks awesome and that Space police Super Set, wow!

???
well, you wrote the most surprising about the novelties are the set numbers, so the new stuff must not be that good ;)

Ah, ok..
Well, I don't think there are any really amazing new sets (some nice ones) .. Want the fairy tree thing (missed the bunny wabbits one), the sub with the drill (for SOME reason) and the viking-fairy boat with white dolphins...
But the 5 digit ref is a HUGE HUGE novelty by itself, imo!

I was wondering about the new set numbers.. do you guys think that Playmobil did it to create the illusion that it has up to 70000 sets by now? In order to make buyers who aren’t that familiar with Playmobil think like; wow, this must be an amazing brand... => a marketing trick? Or what do you think the reason might be? I mean, there must be a reason, no? Otherwise they could have chosen to start with 10000...
-
The store fronts are like those from other makers (Calico Critters and Mighty World) that I have gotten for my kids (those are the right size for Playmobil).
They may be quite popular as they present both a front and back for play value and creating street scenes.
The sub reminded me of the 'Stingray' from Gerry Anderson's series:

First Playmobil sets were relasesed 1974, but the first prototype klickies from Hans Beck date back to which year exactly? Or his first sketches? Could it be 1970? If so, maybe that´s why they chose to start with 70000 instead of 10000...

Two new western sets?
70012 & 70013
I mean new in the numbers, sets look similar to other items that have been produced. Still must have them.
-
And now there are proper pics
(my wallet is having fits.)

I will order the carriage for sure (several different carriages are nice), but because I also own the first version of the Take Along Western City (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4398), I will only order the klickies.

I suppose the chimney sweep with the pig won't make it across the ocean, as usual.
There's no room in the stable either, so Mary gave birth outside. I plan on adding to my wise man hoard, however. Do I spot tartan?
Not loving the heavy reliance on stickers and apps. I see pink and purple plastic has infested 123 as well.
Can't wait for the pet day care theme to come to the US. We need hamsters. Also cats. The small child wants cats.
