Title: Paint prep question
Post by: Minidaz on February 17, 2018, 19:45:24
I've tried searching but not completely found an answer to my question, so thought I'd ask.
When painting the figures, do you need to prepare the body / legs / head etc first to help the paint adhere to it, or can you just paint directly on to the parts ?

Thanks.

It's best to wash them well in warm, soapy water (washing-up liquid is good) and then rinse and dry them well.

Use a primer as an undercoat.

I use acrylic car paints applied in two thin coats.

It helps to warm the surface to be painted with a hairdryer, especially if the weather is col/cold and/or moist.

Useful even on a warm day in the UK.
