The 3 wise men look amazing!!! I’m glad now, that I didn’t buy any before!
-
Well...
Had already commented on the santa house.. And not much to say of the firefighters..
pink advent - white tree looks interesting.. and the boy (that head HAS to go!) looks great! maybe the man too.. (and at least the woman's not a speedo)
peasants - they look a LOT like the previous ones... Sigh. He has the same legs, right? And she has gold shoes. But they're flat. Can't they get it right?? And they have a doll. Part of me finds that VERY appropriate. But odd. The animals are now babies. But the stable is not made of paper (but system WHY, I assume). Oh, and blinkies.
rich merchants - nice klickys.. still facing budget cuts (hey, gets to EVERYONE): one camel for three guys
living room.. I like the guy and the balls on the tree (MORE blinkies! GAH)
BROWN reindeers = (and yet ANOTHER kid sleigh ::) )
the usual duo... the winged one is now a speedo.. but those wings don't work well in that neckpiece, do they? they look too.. "high" to me..
-
Agree the angel wings look too high.
That Joseph from the Nativity set - just saw that figure today in a mixed batch on eBay and wondered where he was from.
They have always only had one camel for the group of three. Never an elephant, just the camel. So now there are 4 camels for the 12 adult kings, poor camels are going to be overworked.
The white small fir tree is great, first time for that.

Just mentioned this:

=> I guess you won’t be able to customise this figure since there will be a kind of small “motorised” device under the skirt?
-
Angel looks odd next to Santa. He's dressed for winter, her for summer.
Nice that Mary and Joseph have new prints despite being almost identical to the advent calendar version. Also interested in that jug with the printed bands on it.
The barn is disappointing. If they're trying to cut costs by having the walls the same mould, then why not make them fully rectangular instead of having a broken corner which limits their use? I know...money bad, random one off piece of plastic good. ::)
Now if that chef hat, which was also in the re-release bakery but in white is still around, and so is the peasant girl hat, then why not the other medieval hats from the 80s?

It is not appropriate to look under a skirt ;-)
-
Could have been A LOT better.
The 3 Wise Men/King are nice, especially the green one on the left. He has those wide sleeves! 8-)
And his torso reminds me somewhat of a Scotsman!
The other 2 are okay, the middle one apparently has no print on the torso, only on the skirt. The right one looks nice too, maybe the prints are a bit overdone on him?
The house is nothing for me. Looks to playmo-123 imo.
Angel is ... well ... way uglier then the previous ones, which were so great with their big skirts.
The barn is disappointing.
I already said it when we saw the small picture; it looks rather like a carport then a barn! ::)
A much simplified structure and without a backwall...
And - like Tahra said- the donkey and the bull are now replaced by baby-animals !!
Mary & Joseph look indeed much the same as the discontinued ones, and they picked one of the worst hats they could for Joseph.
We must probably be cheerful they didn´t give him the Canadian Mountie-hat like they did with Don Q. :P
Only positive about the whole set is maybe Joseph´s torso, which might be useful for all kinds of historical civilians.
No more shephard and no sheep.
Let´s not talk about the acessories in the set, they are almost non-existant.
I see a not so far future were such a set will consist of just Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and some cardboard and will cost 50 euro.

Now that you mention it I believe we saw him too.. and also wondered..
They have always only had one camel for the group of three.
Ah, I still remember the big set - THREE camels there. Back when they could count.. ::)

Can you believe I didn't see it? :-[
I assume the legs are useless, but I am guessing/hoping she pops the same, and we can ditch the gyzmo and giver her proper legs? If not... well... >:(

Agree :(

As usual.

Yes, except the kid was long ago replaced by a doll! :P

Ah yes, I forgot that!
And now the animals are babies. Next release Joseph & Mary will be children. Arghh.
-
It looks like the entire theme got downsized. :hmm:
It's a bit of a shame I didn't get the previous nativity set, since that stable has much less of a draft. They could have saved money on the weird star arch and invested in a third wall.
Why does the "Scottish" wise man have a wand? I'm not loving the purple guy.
The angel looks like she'll get a chill. Do angels get chills?
Ah yes, I forgot that!

They already did that set: the pageant Christmas.

If the old stables were normal houses, this new "stable" is like a modernist house designed in 1956 by a Finnish architect! Really "mod". I can't blame them for trying something new, they perfected the stable in Nativity III, and the figures in Nativity II and Kings II. Those will never be surpassed in my view. 8-)
peasants - they look a LOT like the previous ones... Sigh. He has the same legs, right?
Same legs, arms, hair and beard as Joseph III. Lacking III's robe, but adding a LUDICROUS hat! I suppose he's trying to "get hip" to fit in with his avant garde stable! What about his stick though? Is that new?
Mary IV is almost exactly the same as Mary III too, just slight alterations.
Kings are okay, I'm just glad they didn't use the Egyptian crown like in III. That was very irritating. Egypt is to the WEST of Bethlehem, so the wise guys from the east can't be Egyptian. >:(
living room.. I like the guy and the balls on the tree (MORE blinkies! GAH)
I like the tree and the card tree and...ANOTHER MINIATURE NATIVITY! This time with a different color star. COOL :yup:
The angel looks like she'll get a chill. Do angels get chills?
Oddly enough they get chills only when exposed to the flames of Hell. ;)
-
Strangely enough they didn’t use the dromedary with the coloured eye (can be easily fixed of course), on the other hand, I really like the saddle blanket! Fits very much with the circus! Unfortunately all of it available during autumn...
I’m so glad I was able to buy the last box of Natvity III (as Macruran is referring to ;) )! That was the best one! And you even could replace the stickers on the inside wall with real Playmobil parts (one can wonder of course why Playmobil didn’t replace them in the first place). I bought some extra sheep via the DS, which had the exclusive lambs.
-
What about his stick though? Is that new?
I noticed that last night too.. I think it is new!
So, for once, the best part of the peasants set is NOT the peasants?! That's bad, no?
There's the stick and the printed jug...
I bought some extra sheep via the DS, which had the exclusive lambs.
Those are so cute... I need more adult sheep though..

Indeed, I bought two of them!

bm (if I may use the diminutive of your name) could you explain what you mean by replacing the stickers with real parts? Ideally with pics... :prays:...Those stickers are remarkably bad and I still haven't put them on, would love a different solution. Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's not great that we have Roman civilians that aren't differentiated much... :'(
-

Maybe using the real woodpile instead of the lame sticker? The stupid stickers put me off as well. Stickers of a shelf with EXISTING playmothings on it. Looks so... bad. Lame. Unplaymolike.

Yes, there are so few of them already :(

bm is okay for sure :captain: or just Boris
Well, tahra explained it quite good, hereby with pictures:
The stable (with the stickers visible on the inside wall):
The wood pile (and even the mouse) can be replaced by part 30513830:
The hay (on the left part of the wall) can be replaced as well, enough examples I guess ;) a nice one could be 30070870:
Apart from these "details", this was the best Nativity stable until now.
-
Thanks Boris! Great idea, except for one small detail: the official name of that "hay" part is...
http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30070870
"DUNG HEAP II" :o
I can't put a heap of dung in a Nativity! :lol: 8}

WHY?
I can't put a heap of dung in a Nativity! :lol: 8}
Why not?
-
He doesn´t like the smell of dung in the morning ;D
-
Why not?
Is excrement Christmassy?
