Hmm... With these novelties (the other topics too) I´m mostly looking for useful figures & acessories.
The prince and the archer are a bit pinkish... The king looks quite nice.
I see the Wizard´s telescope is back, this time in a silvergrey instead of gold.
And finally we know what the YETI from Nepal looks like ;D
Btw, this theme seems to have a "historical" setting, but I see a thermos-bottle in the last pic ???

Don't worry, Erwin. Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" is set in ancient Rome, but there is reference in the script to a chiming clock.

The clear chests are pretty cool. Blue husky dog?? I actually like the palace set but that pink will get spray painted silver first, then it will look great.

I agree. Now that I see the larger pictures, the colours are too much. It'd be nice to see some knights with the jewel heraldry of the palace guardsman though.
The snow troll would look good with one of the large clubs, hammers, or swords recently released. The phoenix looks kind of strange though, but I welcome more magic items like the staff and orb in new colours! :D

The rest.. well, I could do without the big rock things, but I want the animals and klickys.
That palace guard.. WHO thought of the black legs!? Seriously. Anyways, I hope I can get my hands on half a dozen or so, for the ice theme (with different legs - and head, of course).
The name phoenix suggests fire. I wasn't expecting a blueish chick. Still, love her. My sister wondered if they'd make a ds release in the proper color. If they liked money, they would. Like this.. we'll see.

I agree, I do like the silver telescope and the lantern the yeti is holding. From the picture it looks like the light coming out of it green-ish, hope it's yellow so that it find its way to medieval houses...

I think its a ICE Phoenix but there is potential in the Future to make a Fire Theme with Fire Phoenix ! :rock:
But the idea with a chicken its not bad for the Stone Age ! :lmao:

The Fire Phoenix could be red with yellow hi-vis stripes and spray water (or shoot icicles).

If you look at some of the sets, it seems that there is a theme of conflict between Winter World and a different, more temperate place. The prince in Set 9471 seems to have arrived from such a place via the Crystal Gate to Winter World.

Because kings outrank queens, so they decided to use the title of King to emphasize their position as reigning monarchs, rather than as wives of reigning monarchs
There are precedents for female kings: King Christina of Sweden, for example (She is often called Queen Christina, but officially she was a king because that was the inheritable title) and there are several kingdoms in Africa that have female kings if whoever inherits the position happens to be female.

I suppose it is quite... "bad", that that is the case... I never knew about calling a queen "king" - or about the pharaohs!
I found it quite astonishing to refer to a female officer as "Sir", back in the days of Space: Above and Beyond. Very very awkward.

Conflict? I see two sets where the frigid princess is rescued from her ice cave by a hot blooded prince from a land of summer.
The royal couple also look suspiciously like Edmund Pevensie and the White Witch from Narnia.

The end of the last season one of the fire breathing dragons became an ice-fire breathing dragon. :o
