First, a little explanation about this klicky;
A daimyo was a feudal lord in Japan during the 12th-19th century.
....."dai" means "big or great" and "myo" means "title to land"
These large land-owners hired armies of samurai warriors just like the European "lords" did at about the same time period.
....my daimyo is wearing a new 3D-printed flat jingasa (single-piece iron hat) and carrying a battle fan (made of iron for command purposes)

Wow - looks great!
And as usual, thank you for the history lesson :)
(and that skirt!)

That's a nice custom piece!

Fantastic detail!
... jingasa (single-piece iron hat) and ... battle fan (made of iron for command purposes)
Jingasa= fool wears in thunderstorm
Battle fan- with sharpened points for hand-to-hand combat?

A very nice custom, master cheng.

thanks Tahra, Pynedor, Playmofire and GrahamB!

in this case, no sharpened points, my Daimyo is using his fan as a signalling device
but in may be used for fending off weapons when taken so off-guard without his sword drawn.
the wide jingasa(hat) would be most helpful during a sudden downpour for the lower ranking samurai like this one below
