New playmobil sites online....
Let's hope it goes smoothly - major testing friday, right?
Unfortunately, I think nothing changed. ::)

I find it a little friendlier, don't you?

Not sure yet. I don't think it was fully functional.
But the list of "themes" on the side is good, if we can just quickly go thorugh them when buying.
-
I had a (quick & short) look at the new online shop (for BE), and I don“t like it much... :(
Knights, Pirates, Romans & Egyptians; those themes are now all together under the label "History", and all sets from those different themes are shown all mixed up among one another 8}

No quick tap to find western or the direct service. I am not a happy camper.
-
Format is a mess in several sections...
Lousy timing though, with the special sale coming. Last thing we need is having to fumble through a new layout for that...
Oh well. Let's hope it does come through.

"Discover the romantic Deluxe Dollhouse"
Romantic?!?! ???

Is a link missing here?
-
All of the Playmobil official sites have been updated Gordon, so for you Playmobil.co.uk
Odd they didn't code the Western as History when they did include the knights. You can use the search in the upper left to search Western and all the sets show up. Add Ons still shows up as a separate link on the lower left of the menu. Western is still a subcat of the Add Ons section.
Romantic?!?!
Well it is pink...

It is pink, didn't you notice ;)

Took me a while searching for spare parts finder and building instructions but found them eventually. Not sure whether I like it or not yet.
-
spare parts appear to now be available for purchase directly on the usa site
-
Yep, looks like some are, similar to what is available elsewhere. I wonder if they will still take an email order for klickies and such?
-
Well, this is weird. If I type in the common PMB address, it takes me directly to the German site. Instead of .com, it changes to .de
-
I agree with Tahra, the format in several sections is a mess. Luckily the link to order spare parts is easy to find.

Though actually ORDERING them is a mess...
I wonder who tested this.

It's going to take a lot of getting used to.

Do you have the link for this on the US website? I can't find it.
My opinion is that the new website has far more pictures but is much less intuitive to navigate.
-
The part ordering is supposed to be (used to be on German site) on the page of the set, but when you go to a set where you know parts are available there is no link. The link does exist on the German site page so I think it has to do with the site version since it was never there before for the US.
However, yesterday on the Building Instructions page linked from the lowest left of each page there was a radio button that lets you switch to ordering by parts number. It's gone now, which makes me think they messed up and weren't really supposed to have that there for the US site.
I just sent in an emailed parts order to the US team, so I expect we will hear early next week if there are changes in process in the works for them.
-
Thanks, Tim. On the German site, I do see the parts ordering for certain sets on the individual set page. It would be great if the US could get this too.
I tried the part number spare parts and building instructions search on the new US website for over a dozen current part numbers for current US sets and every single one said "no building instructions found" so clearly it's not working now. Will it in the future? Here's hoping.

But they forgot to change the text...
A shame it's not available everywhere. Money. Yuck.
-
Hm... i placed an order through it yesterday and it was all US prices... but yeah its gone now...so I guess we'll find out
-
I just placed an order through it, and it was the most painful process I've ever had using a website. Everytime I clicked through to the payment page it would just refresh the page I was on, but wouldn't tell me what information was missing/causing a clash. And it refused to recognise my date of birth in any format.
-
Looking through the US site I find it very confusing. Couldn't find add-ons or direct service anywhere. And pictures of Christmas items a week ago showed things that weren't yet available in the US. So far it seems like a mess and not user friendly, or enticing, at all

"History" combines erstwhile Knights, Western, Pirates, etc. I guess sharks featured under Pirates. A cross reference to Wild Life would be suitable, though.

What really bugs me with the new sites is that the picture gallery of all Fi?ures releases has disappeared. Or did I just fail to find it?
It is really annoying because I used these pics for my eBay listings, and don't know where to turn to otherwise - I certainly don't want to copy from Playkingdoms or Animobil (rest assured! :D), and there is nothing else out there. And opening the bags to take my own pictures is not an option in the MIB trade ...
Best wishes

Yeah, I figured it was because of pirates, but surely they can put them in two categories. Even my basic website lets me put items in multiple categories. This is also a problem with the other animal sets. Many of them would work under Wildlife and Zoo.

In my opinion the new site represent the company much better then the old one.
