Years ago Playmobil used to make some connectors for the old ladder it issued with the fire and building sets. (See picture.) Does anyone know the length of these and whether they were circular or rectangular in cross-section? I'm wanting to make some connectors of my own (unless anyone has any of the originals for sale or trade) so photos or just measurements would be much appreciated.
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Oooops!
Here it is.

there have been two different kind of ladder connectors with the old sets:
- in the firesets 3403 (see pictures below)
- and in the construction set 3400
(see http://www.collectobil.com/catalogue/items/3400.htm (http://www.collectobil.com/catalogue/items/3400.htm))
unfortunately, I do not have any of these two connectors, so I cannot help you with the exact measurements...

Thanks, Socrates. I thought there'd been a connector for the small old ladder which slotted on the end so two could be joined together, but apparently not.

Hm, I also can't remember, that there has been a connector to double the height for this type of ladder. I also only know the 3400 "angle" connector.

Are you looking for the connector that is in the close up pic? if so let me know i have some somewhere , it might take some time to find but if you need mesurements let me know and i can go look .

Hi Playmofire,
On a cover of catalogue (1975 S.467 2de Collectorbook), you can see the ladders connected with string. Too, You can take pieces of flexible, transparent plastic. I never seem originals pieces made from Playmobil to join this.
Best regards,
TJ

Thank you for your offer, Rasputin, but I have that type of ladder connector.
Thank you, TJ, for your sharp eyes - I hadn't noticed that.

Hi Gordon,
Arab warrior (Rob) may be able to help you with precise information on the v-shaped ladder connector.
He posted a pic of one (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=335.0) from his own collection a while back.
Suggest you PM him just in case he doesn't see this topic. :)

Thanks for reminding me of that thread, Sylvia. I had thought that there had been a connector which allowed you to join the old ladders together to make a ladder, say, twice as long, but obviously I was mistaken. I shall do some more experiments of my own to see what I can work out.

I have seen this thread now Sylvia, obviously!
I have one of those connectors to spare, but i think playmofire has seen one different somewhere.
I'll try and find a picture of the part that playmofire need.
