How lovely! That sounds like a lot of fun. So many great details in there, I have to go back and look again. But I love the pirate skull and barrel for the tavern.

The sand makes it even better!

The barrel in the tavern looks great... and the painted ones too.

What a great scene. I love the mixture of klickies used.
It really looks like a very busy harbour.

Tremendous! So much to enjoy and the attention to detail is awesome. The pier is my favourite, putting it all together must have been great fun. How did the layout evolve, was there a master plan or did everyone contribute ideas? A superb team effort.

Hi everyone, thanks a lot for all the comments!
Yes it was a lot of fun but a lot of work too.
As we don't have the resources to buid dioramas and display them for days, we have to plan a lot in advance and make it happen in one afternoon.
How did the layout evolve, was there a master plan or did everyone contribute ideas? A superb team effort.
Two or so, months ago we decided on the theme, so I designed a layout and acted like the "director" in a movie basically. So we divided it into zones, tower, pier, market, tavern, town, beach and so on and asigned a team member to each zone. Then everyone developed its own part and contributed if needed with other areas. The landscape however was the most problematic part and what took most of the planning as non of it is PLAYMOBIL
We got together on a Saturday morning, took us 3 hours to build up the landscape and about 2 hours for everything else with a quick lunch squeeshed in. We were consistant with a tradition of "one working, 7 watching" through out the whole deal hahahah
All jokes aside, though the place was huge the set was 3 by 4 meters, and as the layout was on the floor it was difficult to move around and it was easy to mess things up with 8 grown up men bumping into each other and knocking things down,so at moments we had no choice but to "respect traditions" hehehe...
Then came the frentic half hour for photography, the 20 minutes to put everything down, away and clean up, and then a good hour of relax and conversation.
All in all, a great experience.
 :)

Great diorama with so much details! It's a pity you guys had to clear it up right after the photos were taken.

I'm intrigued by the copyright on the photos.  Is this Gap the clothing company and did they support the show in some way?

I suppose A stands for Argentine and P for Playmobil ...

Smashing images, thanks for showing. Must have been exhausting but also utterly rewarding, tonguello!

Best wishes

Ah, yes, I have just spotted the Playmobil head in the copyright marking.  I hadn't noticed that before.  I guess the G stands for Group or some similar word.

Thanks everyone!

GAP Argentina has nothing to do with the clothes company.
It stands for Grupo de Amigos Playmobileros de Argentina, which in english would be something like, Group of friends Collectors of Playmobil.
"Playmobilero" is a spanish slang word for "Playmobil Fan" or "Playmobil collector"; or the person who likes playmobil .  :)

Is there a word like that in English? "Playmobilers"?   :)

There isn't but we should make one!

Playmobiler
Playmobiller
Playmobilier
Playmobilian
Playmobiliser/izer
Playmobilman/woman

My favourite theme!!   :captain:

The pictures are wonderful, Gaston! Great work!  :)9
Seems to me the scene is taking place in the Indian Ocean, not in the Carribean Sea?

Playmobilero

"Soldado", "Bandito", "guerrillero", "Playmobilero"... in Spanish they seem to put an "o" at the end of everything ...  :P
(except "Pirata" of course  ::) )

Is there a word like that in English? "Playmobilers"?   :)

I don“t think so...

There isn't but we should make one!

Indeed!
"Playmobilist" perhaps? (similar to "filatelist", a stamp collector) Or "Playmobilic" (similar to "alcoholic"  :uhoh: ) ?
(And the official description in Latin could be "Homo Playmobilicus"...?)
