Title: Reconstruction Projects

I'm creating this topic to post on my efforts in recreating & reconstructing Playmobil sets & klickies, from what I'm finding from other Playmobil collectors, old toy stores, & online sources. For anyone who has information on parts & pieces I'm looking for here, your input would be much appreciated! TX!  ;D

Do you mean sets that you cannot find on PlaymoDB? I can help with the western themes if any of those are what you are trying to piece back together.

The project started with the purchase of a klickie & a horse from Classic Plastics Toy Store for just $0.49.

Going to the PlaymoDB, I discovered this klickie was 4616 Blue Knight.

The klickie was missing many items! I needed to replace the hair, helmet & visor, plume, greaves, sword, & shield.

Using the DB as my guide for parts, I called Playmobil DS in the US, & placed an order. I was then able to replace the original helmet & visor, the greaves, & the sword; DS did not have the remaining missing items.

Then, I made an appeal to the members of PlaymoFriends; soon, I had offers of assistance from the USA, United Kingdom, & Greece! Apparently, the plume is of a slightly unique color, not quite blue & not quite purple, so it was hard to replace with anything but the original. Fortunately, PlaymoFriend & PCC member Tiermann came to the rescue with the hair, shield, & plume from an original extra set he had. Voila!

With these final pieces, 4616 Blue Knight is now completely reconstructed. The cost was minimal - $0.49 for the original purchase & just about $2.00 for the DS order. The cost of Tiermann's generosity - PRICELESS!

I have returned him to the friend he was acquired with, & with a bit of bling for the horse, this old Blue Knight rides proudly once again.

TX very much. I'll be posting all of my projects here, so if you see anything familiar, please let me know. Right now I'm focusing on a bag of klickies gifted to me from another PlaymoFriend, mostly knights, but when I get to Western pieces, I'll be sure to ask for your help.  :)

go slow, enjoy the thrill of the search and joy of finding each new part.....i must say that its addictive and soon you'll want to do more and faster and will need bigger doses to get the same 'high'  ;D

The cost of Tiermann's generosity - PRICELESS!", I think if you add in the 2 postal charges from your DS and Tim's postage to you, it might be cheaper to buy a new one, so it makes 'cents' only if its an old sought-for kliky like this Blue Knight.

where I live, there's no DS nor second-hand markets, of course I envy you (all) ;) but the thrill of hunting and receiving PM parts is even 'higher'  :love:

do carry on and share your highs, even with so much klickies, your simple project and photos still is alluring, I guess this is true for us PM-lovers  :) (while saying this, I cannot not wonder if Tahra might not agree  :P )

A fellow Playmofriend & collector sent me a bag of Roman klickies, & this guy was included; he had only a helmet sans plume.

Going to the PlaymoDB, I discovered this was klicky 30 00 2722 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-2722 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-2722)) which was a part of set 5937 & was the main klicky in 4272 Warrior with Horse.

To reconstruct this set, I needed everything except the klicky & the helmet. Fortunately, this was easy to do. To begin with, I had a spare plume with the right part number in my spare parts.

Playmobil USDS got me the horse, saddle, bridal parts, & Roman short sword. The set was almost complete.

USDS did NOT have the cloak, though, & by talking to other Playmofriends, I discovered that this particular cloak had been out of stock in the US for awhile. but was often available in Europe. As usual, Playmobil collectors are a generous group, & GrahamB arranged for me to make an order with Playmobil UK for the hard-to-find cloak. (I stocked-up & ordered 4 of them.) They arrived yesterday & the Warrior was quickly outfitted with his original gear! He is now awaiting for my new Roman Galley to be assembled & he will have a happy home & fellow mates. PROJECT COMPLETE.  :D

Nice work. That is one of my top favorite Roman sets. A very strong, distinctive, harmonious look. I use him as my legatus legionis (legion commanding officer).
