Title: how to use these narrow tubes in Zoo Keeper's cart 6636?
Post by: cheng on June 02, 2016, 14:34:50

why doesn't the instruction tell a child/parent how to divide this long tube into 10 pieces of what seems like 5 shorter and 5 longer bandages....and also isn't the tube narrower than the pre-cut 'bandage' 30888712?

and I assume (descriptions in german/french) D 3 8 x 0060 means 3.8mm x 60mm
but is the spanish description wrongly taken from fire fighting sets as "MADEJA BOMBERO 10 CM" if its at all 10cm and not 60mm?

They come in a long tube? That's weird, never saw that before. They're bandages for baby animal legs and such, right?

guess so, Bonnie....but its funny not to give clearer instructions on the plan....maybe the box art shows some applications.
and hoping to decipher the dmensions...D=Diameter most probably....

I thought you have most of the zoo sets?

I have this set. I just looked at it, then put the hose in my spares box for possible use later. I find these bandage things difficult even when it's the softer plastic, so didn't think the tube was much use to me.

Most of them, yeah, but not this one. I have several sets with those type of bandages but I never saw them in one tube like that.

That is new to me too!

Interesting... I may have to open mine and put it together just because I'm curious.... But the current project on my bench will make that wait.

Tim or Leefert,
can anyone of you please check the dimensions of the tube....Diameter and length?
do they expect kids to cut this tube with sharp blades?
why does the instruction show 2 groups of cut lengths?
I presume its supposed to be random lengths thats why there's no suggestion as to how short/long the sections should be?

I don't have this set, cheng, but I am sure I have seen similar rubbery tubing which is narrower than the hard plastic bandages and can be pushed onto legs to act as extra bandages. Maybe look at the vet sets? Is the tubing partly pre-cut? The picture in the instructions seems to suggest you can pull it apart (there is no scissors-symbol for example). If it isn't pre-cut, my guess would be that you make random lengths.

I think you are correct in thinking D 3.8 x 0060 does refer to the dimensions in mm, that seems to be the case with other parts listed on playmobil websites, so the Spanish description probably is wrong (many errors in pictures or descriptions appear on Playmobil's parts finder).

I am not off work again until Monday, I will try to get it checked out then.

Graham is right in everything he said. I also have the set and the tube IS pre-cut and come off in smaller parts if you pull a little!
