Title: PF will be closed temporarily for maintenance

Hi, everyone :wave:

PlaymoFriends is currently running on an old beta version of the Simple Machines (http://www.simplemachines.org/) forum engine - 1.1 RC1.

A fully tested version has been released several months ago and most of the initial bugs have now been picked up and fixed. Several exciting and useful new features have also been added, which I am very eager to try out! :D

I think that now would be a good time to upgrade to the latest version of SMF, so I am planning to put the forum into maintenance mode this weekend in order to begin installing the updates.

The upgrading process will not take long, but I will need to edit and tweak several templates in order to have the forum looking and performing similar to how it does now. I estimate that this will take me around 7-10 days.

As soon as the forum upgrade is completed, I will send out an e-mail to notify all the members. :)

It's reassuring to know I have back-up if I run into a problem. :D

One of my main worries will be getting the new forum to bridge with the existing Coppermine Photo Gallery (which is also overdue an upgrade. :toot: ) Hopefully it will be easier than it was last time! 8}

The most important rule when update is backup, backup and don't forget BACKUP  :P

Are you going to upgrade Coppermine too? 2 in 1, that is a hard work!
