Post by: tahra on November 07, 2015, 18:19:04
4843 Jungle Shelter

We got this one cause it was on sale when we did an order at a store... and it's actually a very nice set.. with gorgeous klickys

Assembled

The shelter is quite plain, and it works very well.. It's so simple that it can actually be used in just about any time frame (I suppose prehistoric would be off, but other than that...)  REALLY really nice.

Have no idea why they have a crateload of dynamite...

The computer and gps thingy are pretty, and so is that big metal crate. I also like this shovel.

The klickys, all brownish and gorgeous  ;D

And the big snake...

And this concludes this tiny review.

Nice!  I have never seen that set.  Your are right in that it would be a very versatile set!

Is the snake solid plastic or can it be bent? The box cover makes it look as though it can be bent. I'm guessing it's supposed to be an anaconda.

It can be bent, its a rubbery plastic with a wire core. I like this shelter and picked up a couple when it was an add on.

The shelter is nice but not with anaconda's around. I wouldn't sleep  :o

Guess I forgot to point out that detail about the big snake.. :-[

Well, better that one than the mega-spider!  I think snakes are cute, and if they wouldn't harm me.. well.. squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!

Right, what is up with that? :)

Thanks for the review! I really like this set, but I'm going to pass on a giant snake  :o

Are they busting up the mountains/whatever looking for diamonds? Have no idea.

Why? She's cute    And I think they'll look great on a jungle setting (or coming out of the toilet - probably doesn't fit - in a city scene - if it's down under, right?  :P  )

Nice review of a neat stand alone set. When we first bought this set we were not too sure about being able to use the base plate but now having it has showed great dio uses.

I am never too happy about the box image, guy getting ready to strike at the snake with his machete, is not the type of lessons I teach my kids. Snakes are very usefull and need to be respected and honored. Never happy to see explorers behaving like the hack of an archeologist Indianna jones...running around blowing up ancient treasures for personal gain

Maybe they have all that dynamite because they are rebels planning to topple the corrupt regime?

Then go give them a cookie and a match? Smart    and don't forget to tell them whom to reelect in the "vote"

I think of the box image as a man with machete chopping through the fern, not the snake. It's the dynamite that poses the bigger problem. If they're archaeologists then smaller tools would be preferred like a hand pick and brush and camera on tripod.
Then again, maybe they have to blast a route for their vehicle to travel through.
