Yes
"Due to a lack of moderation / administration team, your forum is temporarily closed. I can not manage 400 members alone. Thank you for your understanding."
Sounds like he is done.
Not terribly sad, actually I see it as a good thing. I do not dislike him or his site but too many boards dilutes the small playmo collecting community. Too many choices
TJ used to visit many boards to promote/advertise his board. I never viewed that as a good thing. Come to someone's house to try and persuade members to go elsewhere. It was not evil intent but just rude in my opinion .
In my opinion We for a while had very active boards and only a few. Now we have very inactive boards with many choices

Very true. Quite a few forums that I used to be a member of shut down over the years and only the largest communities survived.

That site came up a lot with google image searches, looked to have some very nice stuff on there.
-
It is back online today.

Him AND the site were not very friendly so no wonder people lost interest in it. ::)

I thought the problem was too many members, not that people had lost interest.

Never heard that before. Did you have an experience there? I have never been there but knowing TJ the site must have had some nice pictures.
-
Yes I was part of it for a while. The best of the site were the pictures. And tj's customs.
But the site itself was very hard to navigate, extreamly confusing, the sections were weird, the interface too, for me it was imposible to find things... it was a pity to be honest. People would post in 74 different languages which made impossible to follow threads... it was a mess.
Nevertheless, the people was nice and the work you could find there was really good.
My exerience with TJ himself was not great. Due to "site issues" I contacted him 2 or 3 times asking for help and the responses were kinda rude, to tell you the truth.
Also... if you, for instance hadn't logged in for like a month or 2 (I can't remember) you would have gotten an email "warning" you (to use a sweet word) about your membership being revoqued if you didn't post soon enough. Which is kinda of rude too. The language barrier might have been a problem though, but it's not nice to get those sort of emails. Anyway...
At the end of my experience there, TJ sent a general email, COMPLAINING about the low number of posts and the poor development of threads, which was IMO out of place. Also, I THINK he asked for ideas and moderation help in the same email. (or maybe another one later on)
This was two years ago, so it was in trouble already then. :'(

It's too bad when forums with so much??? History ?? Content?? Ideas?? I am not sure what to call all the stuff but when they shut down its all lost. All the info at playmobored was lost and it's too bad no one has ever tried to re release it all ;) hopefully TJ keeps a file of it all for later.

I agree that the site was difficult to navigate

I hope so too.
TJ's customs and Markus1900 dioramas (among others) were jaw-dropping good! :o

...And it is back again ;-)
-
They have changed address and started over, with files being moved over as they can. I still need to register again, when I have time after Valentine's Day. so busy here now
-
I've re-registered.

Down again today. Good site, bad moderators...
-
It's down for several days already. There is also a large problem with the servers from Amazon, on which many European and African sites are hosted.
It's something Tricornejock can't help at all.

De site is online.
-
Yes, don't shoot the moderators ;)
