This one was highly desired by me for the forge components, something I have been sadly lacking in for my castle.

The contents

A sheet of stickers to hold the light cardboard background on. I found you don't really need them except maybe on maybe the floor part of the center panel. The shelves hold the sides in fine. One sticker for the back of the forge that could be skipped if you want to keep it plain grey.

Here it is put together

and without the klickies in the way

A full set of forge tools included, plus a bucket with water insert and the anvil and base piece. The forge has the same base parts as the medieval kitchen stove that has been around a while, just with a new top piece.
Note that the front is curved as are the doors. When it is open all the way it creates a nice S curve along the front. I will show you how this can be useful when I review the Surf Shop set.

Note above the torches and the clips holding the axes. They have system x holes there and all of these sets use them for additional display parts. The pieces clipped in always have to be removed though to close the sets.
Here is the box with the contents inside

The insert in the top can be removed of course but since I am not carrying it around I left it in.

Here are the two klickies. The knight is nice but a bit typical for these days. I do like the colors used though.
The blacksmith is excellent. Love the use of caveman hair on him and the combo of the torso and legs.

Overall this is a great set for knight theme fans and I think very play-able for kids. Tons of weapons but includes an actual civilian and some useful parts. This is a much better version of the forge than comes with the blacksmith shop currently in release from DS. The price was $19.99 USD direct from Playmobil.us and worth every penny. That's it for this review, two more in this series to go.

Very nice set, I wish it was available here too.
How come the US always gets the good stuff? We never get medieval exclusives over here. :(
-
Thanks for the review! This really is a very nice set. Everything has normal colors and the content is very original.
I can imagine you are so happy to have it. I can see Santa's reindeer going to the blacksmith this year. :)

Thanks for the review... This is one "take along" we planned to get, but not available here..
I'd settle for the blacksmith's torso.. but so far he has eluded me.

I've been meaning to get this, just for the blacksmith.

Me too, what an excellent set :)
Thanks for the review!

My best guess is that they intend to release the sets in this series other than the Halloween one in Europe next year. I've noticed they have been doing that - with more US exclusives later showing up as regular sets in the catalog. Similar to what they did with the Christmas Fair set that was a store exclusive in Germany and then went to the catalog the next year and will be here in the export markets hopefully next year.

Thanks for the reivew. I have this set too, it is a good set.
-
Here's hoping they will release it here sometimes yes.
It's just crazy that USA gets lots of medieval exclusives considering that I'd imagine the theme may be more popular in europe due to history. Would be the same if Europe would get many western exclusives. I'd imagine the western theme is most popular in the USA.

Thanks for the review, Tiermann. There are definitely some nice pieces included, but I don't like the box forge design very much.

I was wondering if this black carry box could be added to your market strip as a sort of modern medival tavern sort of thing. A table with seats or bench with stools and use the wooden mugs. Add a modern shoed medival bartender and a medival scantily clad waitress, since it's close to the beach ;)

It probably could be. Could also be a shop selling toy weapons and related things. In my one day long term plans I want to do an amusement park that will have a castle with a joust going, and this would fit in nicely as a side booth selling souvenirs and such.

Great idea, I like it. Never thought about fitting it in an amusement park dio, that is a great way and a few could be used seeing how they fit so nicely together
