Hi,
have a look here:

Thanks for the Link Andi.
Oh dear,
I don't like that TOY Pirate skull cave set it has crossed the line from a collectable item to a bin it when your bored of it toy. My son David collects those megablok Pyrates that come in a skull and it just looks like one of those to me.
The army camo coloured jet is a bit odd too, will this mean a military theme is on the way, what about the cabin crew how are they dressed?
There's a few bits there that I would like, the new chariot set and that pirate ship and probably the rock pirate set with the painted on skull.
-
Thanks Andi,
I'm pleased to see there will be a few Romans. I have a lot of pirates already so will have to see if there's anything in the sets that would make them worth picking up. (like new animal variations)
-
Thanks for the link Andi!
There is some very interesting stuff there. Of course, the pirates look good to me. And <GASP!> I even like the skull case. :)
The Romans as well will be nice to have, and I am sure my daughter will love the puppet stage special I saw. Very nice overall.
-
:)
thanks andi, for the news and the pics.
all the pirates seem great (but then, they always do to me).
i can see that there is a new small ship too.
there was a list in the german portal:
5804 - "take along pirates island" (the "skull" box)
5808 - "skull hideout"
5809 - "pirates ..." (can see it in the box)
5810 - seems to be the new schooner - Piraten Schiff klein
5775 - no pictures - Pirateninsel/Schiff????
it seems that all the boxes that can be seen have their neames in french also.
are you sure that these are u.s. sets?
???
-
If the names on the boxes are in French and English, it suggests they are for North America as in Canada rather than the USA.
-
:)
thanks playmofire,
i just took a look at my u.s. sets (5779, 5780 being the most recent) and they are all bilingual (could this be the right way to write it?) - english and français.
could it be that canada is a bigger market for playmobil than the u.s?
a mon avis non but i really don't know.
???
maybe hadoque could give us some help about the info they have in playmo-portal.
:)

i found a new picture for the new pirates' set.
it was one of the front images missing from this thread.
it is called 5809 - "pirates' dinghy" or "canot de pirates".
-
looks like this is the second target playmobil set to have a tattooed klicky. he is the one in the boat and has a skull and cross bone . also he has the sword sheath with the three dangly # 30 09 5660 . He is also missing an eye
-
I think I saw that arm with the tattoo before; on a Eastern egg pirate.
Still ... it is a great arm.

I'm not too impressed with 5809 so didn't get it when I was shopping today. 5808 though is a great set. You can't tell from the box front that the smallest rock formation slides into the crevice on the large one to make a hiding place. I will post photos some time soonish.
-
???
well, it seems that the only pirate set yet to be seen from the list is the 5775 - Pirateninsel/Schiff...
has anyone seen it?
???
it seems that all the new american pirates' sets have black rock formations with white grafitti skulls.
the european ones seem to maintain the traditional grey rocks.
can this be an indication that the new u.s. sets won't be avaiable this side of the atlantic?
::)
-
At first when i bought the 5808 i figured the skull was printed on the rock . i had it laying around for a few weeks and opened it today . THe skull is a decal and will be very usefull elsewhere . I would like to see where you useed this rock . I have yet to find usefull spots for System X rocks . I do not like the cannons at all . it shoots weekly and the ammo, what do you do with it ??? What is the 5775 ? any pictures ? any info ?

Here 2 pics from set 5775, posted by LUMINA on the German Klickywelt-forum.
Nothing new... ::)...no new klickies...and it's the same Schooner as in sets 3029/3860/4067, with 2 minor differences (which may make it 'collectable', but I'm not gonna buy one); a different printing on the black sails (a skull instead of a seadragon) and...hum... slightly larger gun-openings in the deck's railing for allowing the positioning of a Big Bertha cannon instead of a normal cannon.
The naval tower resembles the one in set 5727 from about 2 or 3 years ago.
-
1. A pic of the very-much-alike schooner from the 'old' set 3029 for comparison.
2. Also one of the Schooner in set 5810. This one has more differences. Perhaps the hull is black instead of darkgrey, and the deck-colour may be a darker blue, like the deck from last year's 5778 Skull Ship. Sails also similar in layout as 5778 and the masts too have most probably the same colour as the ones in 5778. (I hope to be able to confirm this later this week as 'a package' is on it's way to my house ;) )
The klickies aren't new either, the air-swinging sailor was to be found in set 5782 (2006) with a different hat (he has a very nice eyepatch!).
3. Pic from the backside of set 5810. As you see, there ain't much accessories included.
edit:
I just noticed in the pic that the 5810-Schooner is likely to also have the larger gun-openings as the one in 5775...
-
Here a pic from the backside of set 5804 "Skull Island"...
(I too don't like this set that much - particularly the skull-island itself - so I'm not gonna try to get one...but I would appreciate if someone could provide the partnumber for the samurai-sword in this set! ;) )
-
And here a piccie from 5808...
-
And to finish (and to reach 100 posts ;D ) a piccie from 5807...
Few remarks about this one:
The grey barrel of the cannon (with the new firing-mechanism) is not a shiny silverish one as the ones in the previous schooner-sets. The red of the gun-carriage is also not the same red as the one f.e. in set 3174 (the schooner with red sails), but looks more like the red of the old cannons that came with the galleons (1st PMB-pirate ship's design, like 3750).
As the new 5810-schooner has only 1 cannon - and probably it is the same one - it will go well with that set.
-
I like the black hat on the "swinging sailor", it would make a good hat for a British Royal Navy sailor, if one could add a blue top (maybe striped) and white trousers (with or without shoes). I have just one, that came in an eBay purchase of random bits and figures.
I need to go over my Hornblower DVDs and try to create a "look".
The Naval shore battery guys are nice too, but there always seems to be one captain to one lieutenant.
-
:wow:
than you hadoque for all the new picks.
the 5775 is also a disapointment to me.
i like it but the fact that the schooner is very much like the one in the 4067 is sad. :'(
will the stickers on the other sets be easy to place? the rocks are rather "curvy" with a lot of failiures... ???
... and by the way, congratulations on your 100th message mon capitaine.
:arrr:

Hi Hadoque, Cachalote, and Andi,
Thanks for the pictures of the new sets.
The part number for the Samurai sword is 30 21 8450.
(I asked Target if they would let me open a box and get
the number, and they did!) ;D
Best regards,
Jimbo

I too don't like this set that much - particularly the skull-island itself - so I'm not gonna try to get one...
I am actually beginning to like the "Skull Island" set ... ;)
I think that it might go well with the Jungle Series ... :)

Hi Playmofriends,
yes this was a great idea Richard, i like this Skull Set ,too !
but this was the problem here in germany , you cant get the us sets and us fans can not get some german exclusive without some problems !
hmmm
world greets
Andi
-
It does not need to be a problem. I am always wanting some sort of German exclusive sets and am willing to send over US exclusive sets in exchange. ;D
-
:(
the problem, rasputin, is the customs office.
in portugal they have quite an enormous power - they can open any letter or parcel that comes from outside the european union and thay can decide the value of the item inside.
even if it comes with an invoice with the price you paid, they can decide that the value is different and tax it more or less as they want.
it is a sad business...
:'(
as it is sad that this new 5775 brings nothing new.
it has been like this from the moment the 3029 original schooner with a small island was released (in 96 i think).
one year later playmobil re-released it with the same crew (minus 2 pirates) and without the island.
later (i think it was later, i have no data) they re-released it as number 4067, again with 5 pirates and one small island.
finally, they reshape the island, add a very small fortress, add a new drawing to the mainsail and include old pirates and soldiers.
sad...
:'(
my 3029 set came even with some wrong figures (2 of the pirates).
i don't know if this is common or not but the whole story is a collector's knightmare.
:(o):

nice set... too bad, I have not been in the US for quite a while now... :(
Interesting. We already had the discussion about the samurai sword:
http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=1589 (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=1589)
Obviously, they changed it...
BUUUT... for all europeans the old number might still work. NOW ALREADY!! :yup:
Is the sword in a different color than the one from the old special?
best
socrates
-
Hi all,
This makes me want to buy the skull rock and make the "skull" go away.
Maybe cover the skull with rocks and bushes...
Socrates, I think the USA ninja sword is a bronze color ???.
If I get the set, I will know for sure. :yup:
Best regards,
Jimbo

I just got stung on a shipment from the US to the UK, though not entirely unexpectedly. A package valued at $50 cost me an extra $25 (actually £12.22) to receive, because the limit is £18 value for non-gift items, or £36 for gifts.
The actual VAT charge was £4.22, which is correct (at 17.5%) on the goods inside - but there is also an £8 charge for the "Royal Mail International Clearance Fee" - i.e. for calculating the charge and charging you.
If people are prepared to trade then the £36 limit is quite generous.
My lesson is not to buy big lots off eBay because they're not as cheap as buying singly.
