Es ist an der Zeit, mal ein paar Bilder meiner 1900er Dioramen einzustellen. Dabei handelt es sich im Wesentlichen um aktuell 30 Eisenbahnmodule sowie 13 Module einer Stadt mit Straßenbahn. Und damit geht's jetzt los.
It's about time to present my 1900 scenery beginning with 13 city module boards. Inspired by Emmas "Chester Rows" I began to build a similar "shopping mall". Ususally my buildings are closed on all four sides not showing any interior. Abrahams Book Shop's a littel exception from that rule.
Soon I discovered there had to be some "framework" to that Rows. So a Hotel, a cafe and of course some streets were added. Still something was missing... tracks! Now two streetcars, an electric tramway and a horse drawn one, circle around my buildings. Hope you enjoy pics and film. Craftsmen, a beer seller ("Seidlas Siggi") and coffee tables accomplish that dio.

Für gewöhnlich sind meine Gebäude rundherum geschlossen und haben daher keine Einrichtung. Eine Ausnahme ist der Ladem vom Bücher Abraham.

Lovely diorama! The detail is amazing, like the horses pulling the "trolly" cars and the cable wires.

Beautifull diorama, very nice buildings and tram! Many clickies with lots of character too, you can almost hear their conversations as they go about their daily business. :)

All the custom houses really make it unique. I really like the walkways on the first floor of the medieval houses.
I'd love it if you would do interiors too one day :)
The trolleys are beautiful. And the way the tracks blend within the pavements is amazing!!

Depends on what you're used to! It's about 4.7yd x 1.65yd - so it DID take it's place while standing in my work room 8-).
Kommt auf die Maßstäbe drauf an *g*. 4,20m x 1,50m - schon ganz schön riesig, wenn man es in der Werkstatt stehen hat und sich außenherumquetschen muß 8}.
@Birdie Nein, weitere Inneneinrichtungen wird's nicht geben. Dafür sieht man zu wenig. Außerdem steht das Haus auf zwei Platten: Auf der vorderen die Front, auf der hinteren der Rest (mit dem Zimmer). Und damit dieser ansonsten hohle Rest genügend Stabilität bekommt, hat er ein Holzgerüst als Kern. Da ist gar kein Platz mehr für weitere Zimmer.

@Birdie No way. This building's standing on two different boards, one holding the front, the other the back. As the back's hollow inside (apart from that single room) there's a wooden core supporting the Playmobil walls. But at least the hotels ground floor's furnished.

Heute gibt's 1900 mal ganz anders 8-). 1900 from a totally different point of view. We had a big garden-trains-meeting last weekend. Amongst a great variety of trains runnning more than 1.000yd of track some quite playmo-like enginges, coaches and trucks were to be spottet...
The grey steam engine isn't just painted, it's also providing sound and steam and its couplers can be operatet automatically. Its tracks are at least newly painted, some even are proper cusotms. The black tender loco used to be a "normal" black B-coupler customized to fit a Steaming-Mary-tender; both motors are connected to improve current flow. Its three green-white coaches are customs. Finally there's a "Schweineschnäuzchen", a motor tram or railcar. Its a complete custom as well, an apart from lights and sound there's two servos making its drivers turn so the one in front is looking at the tracks while the one on the back would be talking to a passenger, had it not gone lost last week and not been refixed yet :-[.

Diese drei Züge hatte ich mit dabei: Photo-Rangierlok mit Güterzug, Selbstbauschlepptender mit grün-weißem Personenzug und mein Schnäuzchen.

...zieht das Schweineschnäuzchen auf der fest installierten Anlage des Gastgebers ihre Runden. Ein kompletter Selbstbau, der neben Licht und Klang auch zwei drehbarer Fahrer hat. Während der jeweils vordere auf die Strecke achtet, würde sich der jeweils hintere mit einem Fahrgast unterhalten - wäre er mir nicht neulich abgebrochen :-/.

Die Lok hat nur einen Photoanstrich, sie raucht und klingt und kann automatisch entkuppeln. Alle Waggons sind wenigstens umlackiert, einige weisen auch größere Umbauten auf.

Irgendwo mittendrin - diese Anlage hat einen kniffeligen aber netten Gleisplan.

Der Personenzug bei einer Bahnhofseinfahrt. Er wird von einer "normalen" B-Kuppler Dampflok gezogen, die für einen Steaming-Mary-Tender umgebaut wurde. Beide Motoren sind verbunden, um die Stromleitung zu verbessern. Außerdem wurde auch hier Rauch und Klang eingebaut.

Der Größenunterschied ist schon beeindruckend, finde ich.
Alles Photos bis hier waren auf der dauerhaften Anlage des Gastgebers aufgenommen, nun kommen Bilder von den knapp 1.000 Metern Gleis, die wir extra für das Wochenende aufgebauthatten. All pics till here were taken on the permanent layout. Here's some impressions on our about 900yd of track built for that weekend only.

Zwei Wendeschleifen mit je vier Gleisen pro Richtung (sprich 16 Parkgleisen) bildeten das "Austauschherz" und das Schlafzimmer der Anlage. Da muß man den Kleinen schon suchen...

Am I correct in thinking that on the grey loco the loudspeaker for the sound is also the smoke box on the engine?

Well actually you are as the original smoke box ... erm bonnet? lid? cover?... also showing the engine number got lost somehow and I can't find it at the moment ::).
Jepp, stimmt. Die eigentliche Rauchkammertüre ist abhandengekommen... :eh?:.
