Title: Need some advice
Post by: JLMatterer on August 13, 2015, 01:09:20
Hi! I need some advice. Last month I received a lot of Playmobil for my birthday; unfortunately two pieces were missing from everything, so I called Playmobil on July 20 to ask for replacement parts. I was told I'd get them in a week to 10 days, but nothing's arrived yet. Today I received 5589 3 Wise Kings & I'm missing another part. Do I call the Playmobil # again or is there a better way to get replacements? TX!

I got a damaged part replaced via phone. Consensus on here was that's the quickest way in the US and they were right, however it still took AGES. Like almost a month. I reckon they have to ship parts from Europe.

Always make them send you the part... usually take  2-3 weeks sometimes more in my experience.

I had luck with calling them.  I have found that nearly one in ten mystery figures has an issue. I have two more parts to call about tomorrow.

It's been three weeks, so I think you'd be justified in calling them to check

That said, they've lied to me before about when they've sent out things, so they're an infuriating company sometimes.  >:(

Call and check and see why they haven't arrived yet.  Then tell them about the other missing part.

Threaten to switch to L*go.

That would probably make them happy.

Threaten to switch to L*go.

Does le&0 even have customer sevice?

I know playmo us in New Jersey is run a bit independently and is a minor market so Germany does not help them to the extent we are used to or like. It used to be better but again Germany made it more difficult with new stocking procedures. Playmobil usa's issues start at the top in zirndorf. It's a common problem when your out of the primary European market.

Call, be nice, persistent, and you'll get your parts.

I am more surprised about the volume of missing parts than the  customer service

I have hundreds of unopened figures and would hate to one day, when I invent the 36 hour day, open old ones up only to find missing unorderable parts.

But can you please hurry up on that? I think I could use those.  ::)

Threaten to switch to L*go.

LOL. I made some of my Playmobil pics on Imgur public, & got some nice comments, but one guy said, that while the pics were good, he didn't understand why anyone liked Playmobil over Lego. I wanted to respond it's because L*go are horrid little bricks, but held my tongue.

Called Playmobil today; my previous parts order was mailed yesterday & they took my order for another replacement part, so it's all good. I must admit it's frustrating to wait for a UPS delivery for several days, then to find an incomplete set which  entails another order & another wait. The new Playmobil is the 3 Wise Kings - I'm getting ready for Christmas. This is the start of pieces for the mantelpiece.

In my opinion the previous Three Kings are the best - in the sense that they look the most like they do in non-PM Nativities: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=4886

The first Three Kings are interesting figures but again imho not as Christmassy as version II: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=3997

Likewise, I like the figures in Nativity II the best: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=4884

though the building in Nativity III is superior, and the shepherd is as good as shepherd II: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=5588

So this Christmas I will be putting out Building III with Figures and Kings II, and probably both shepherds, and even the little one from that kiddy nativity set.

This year will be the first Christmas since Playmobil entered my life. I'll be ordering this next:

It'a start; I can only imagine what I'll have in a few years.  :P

My 5588 came not long ago! It's a fine set. And that lantern!

JLM I love your enthusiasm as someone new to Playmobil!

I mean sure, we're all enthusiastic, but it's kinda cool to witness someone experiencing and finding it all for the first time!  :)

Received my July 20th order for missing parts yesterday (Aug 18); still waiting for another order made over a week ago. Now that I expect a lag time on these orders, it's all good, & nice to know I can get things like this. :)
