First off I am titling this June but am posting it in July because I already have 14 new animals on their way to me that aren't here yet, so it's really referring to my collection as it was at the end of June. I started this particular project as a celebration of the 10th Anniversary of my Animobil website which has just happened. I will be adding the big photo to the site in my next update. So here it is:

You can click the link to go see it in full size, which is fairly big. It's so much though that I had to take a bunch of closer shots you can blow up to really see things well. I will post those in responses below.
How many animals are there in the photo? 1059
As a collector of course I look at it and just see the huge gaping holes where the 92 I don't have are missing :D But 14 are on the way already, and most of the rest I don't have only because they haven't been released here in the US yet and I am too cheap to pay shipping from Germany for them so far. This patience and waiting thing isn't always my strongest trait. I may get them early yet if the Euro drops again. There are just a handful of older ones that I don't have, about 14 that are not in production that I am watching for yet. Some I may not be able to get ever as they are pretty rare, hard to distinguish from more common ones in photos, or just impossible to get in the US. I hope to go to Europe again in a few years and will time it to be at one of the big collector Playmo fairs so I can shop through the dealers and hopefully find a few of them.

Any of these photos you can click on the link next to them and go see the larger versions on my Flickr account. Obviously if you want to see any individual ones standing next to a klicky for size comparison please feel free to look them up on my website Animobil, where every one in the photos is shown on their own page.
Hint if you ever want to try taking one of these photos yourself: don't bump a dolphin. They fall over and start a chain reaction :0

Truly incredible! That is just a staggering collection. 8}
I've never seen those coloured baby dinos before - I'm assuming they're customs? If so, fantastic job! They look great.

:(o): :(o): :(o):
This is mindblowing! And so much fun to look at!! I love the 1-2-3 animals in between, they all look startled for some reason, maybe because of the big eyes, heehee.
I was afraid about the chainreaction before you mentioned it...!
Is there a list somewhere of the few rare animals you haven't found yet? For such a marvellous project, I'd love to help. You never know, if I've got one of those lying around, it would be an honour to donate.
P.S. Congratulations with the anniversary of Animobil. It's such a great help to all collectors.

:o
AWESOME PIC!
(I know all about the "bumping" problem.... I have plenty of accidents on my usual arrival pics)
-
Amazing collection!
I'm not surprised you had a domino thing happen setting them up for the photo! That's a lot of work!

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Nope, no custom animals on the table at all, everything is an official release, though some are hard to get for various reasons. The baby dinos are from the Funpark in Zirndorf. They are sold in the shop there, and as far as I am aware that is the only place you can get them. I have a topic page specifically about animals that have only been released at the Funpark, it is Here (http://animobil.info/text/3e258fc-1898.html) My favorite Funpark animal ever is the glow in the dark lobster. It's been discontinued since about 2010/11.

I don't have one put together at the moment but it's something I will work on shortly. Mostly it's very old animal mold variations, things like cows with three udders, or the bright Vedes game rabbits in the poses I don't have. Part of this project ended up being a lot of time spent figuring out if something counted as a variation or not, and reconciling my lists of what I have with my official list and deciding if things should be added to the official list or not. As of today I am counting 1157 on my list of all variations ever. Old variations keep popping up from time to time, so there may be more. As of right this minute my list of animals I don't have is 98.

And that display is just mindblowing! Thanks for sharing.

AMAZING!!! Congratulations.
...and animobil is a really useful page for those of us that love Playmo animals!!!!

Utterly astounding.

Did you hear that cachalote? Leave the dolphins alone! ;D

AWESOME is the only word, Tim, and many congratulations on the 10th anniversary of animobil.
-
Awesome collection, and congratulations on the success of your site, Tiermann! :)

congrats on the jubilee. Let me know if i can help out, with anything you need.
Allready have some stuff ready for you, so combining it would be ideal for you, no?
Like Miss "B" said, a list would be handy. Maybe i have some of those old animals aswell lying aorund and would be happy to donate them ;-)

Thanks again for the comments. Here is YouTube video of the collection taken at the same time as the photos. http://youtu.be/P7T7APJWez8 (http://youtu.be/P7T7APJWez8)
I will post a thread about my wanted animals but I need to go through and put together a photo list, some of the things I am looking for really need illustration to make sense. SO that will happen towards next weekend. Thanks for the offers of help.

Perfect music.

Great video!
I'm wondering now - of which single animal do you have the most?
-
That's a tricky question. I don't keep a count of quantities, and most I only have one of. I suspect it is something common and small that shows up in lots of sets. I seem to have a lot of the trout type fish, and lots of bluebirds as well. Lots of crows in part because I sought them out so I would have 13 to put on a tree for Halloween a few years ago. Plenty of the mice as well.
-
That is an incredible collection Tim. :wow:
Congratulations too on the 10th Anniversary of Animobil.
I have been so grateful to be able to use the information on the site so many times over the years and especially recently as I'm planning a Noahs Ark diorama at Kirkbean at the end of the month - there won't be as many animals leaving the ark as you have though
-
Wow! Now that is quite an awesome collection of animals!
-
 congratulations on your aniversery! :cheerlead:
Those pictures are so much fun to look at. Ever since I discovered animobil I often visit the site and it always maken me happy. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and your collection.
Hard to pick a favourite but those new chihuahua's are so cute.

I see. :) The crows are great.

Absolutely amazing, Tim! Your collection is so diverse. I can't believe there are 92 animals you don't have, looking at that picture it's hard to believe there are that many animals in the playmoverse. Good job of arranging them and getting them all in the pic, too. I've tried to take pictures of my collection before and they always end up looking so messy.
-
I'm equally amazed by your collection and your ability to show them off that well in a single picture. :o
Funny thing is that I just bought myself a rhino with child today and I noticed its different from the ones you have, the new one has black eyes and white horns. Does that count as any you don't have yet?
Other than that you definatly have every animal that I have, which isnt that many. :)

My money was on the mice :)

My money was on the mice :)
"I got my mice on my money and my money on my mice..." :toot:

Do you count the troll as an animal by the way? ???
-
Amazing animals collection!!! Well done Tim!!
George. :)
-
Great collection!!!!
Love you're site!!
Greetings Peter
-
Fantastic collection, Tim... and it will keep on growing with the new releases, I suppose. Amazing!
Many thanks for sharing!
-
Thanks for the kind words. Yes I already have at least 25 more animals than I had when I took the photos.
-
Fantastic collection. It has inspired me to go through my animal collection and work out what I am missing. I try to collect all the wild animals and think I have all of them released in the past 10 years or so.
Since the release of the otters and lynxes - two of my favourite animals - I'm not sure Playmobil could top that. Though some snow leopards, clouded leopards or pretty much any other wild cats would be nice!
