Title: 2015 Add-ons
Post by: Tiermann on June 01, 2015, 16:05:40
The catalog is up at ONline-Kataloge (http://www.playmobil.de/Online-Kataloge?ecat_id=DS_DE_2015_2016_150dpi&height=645&width=780&pdf_id=DS_DE_2015_2016_150dpipdf.pdf) and the sets are on Playmobil.de finally. They really waited until the actual release date before going live with tis stuff this year. In the past they usually released the info on their website a week or two early. PCC members have known about these things for a while now, but it can be publicly talked about by everyone so here you go! Full review of the animals is on my blog at http://animobil.info/animoblog/?p=890 (http://animobil.info/animoblog/?p=890)

Most exciting to me are the new turtles set and the Fast Food Restaurant set with the hamburgers, fries, and hot dogs. I will definitely be getting some of the street lamp even though it's unlighted this time - so glad they finally listened to us about that.

Would like the Merry Mens Feast as well but it's 40 Euros so will probably be close to $50 here in the US. It means the tree and the beer mugs with foam will be available from parts though but I will probably end up getting a couple fo the full set since it has so many useful parts in it. When someone does get one please post a review The animals they are showing in the picture are the old molds and I suspect they are actually going to be the current mold versions instead, except probably for the horse.

I agree on the price probably being close to $50 here.  Which is sad since all I really want from the set is the tree.  But I will most likely do a parts order to get the tree (might buy the whole set once though)

I too am very excited about the Turtles.  I'm also excited about the new sheep.  Might be tempted to buy the new house/barn/ animal shed add on (not sure which to actually call it).  Definitely plan on the animal fencing from the old African Safari line, and I'll probably add a Hippo or 2.  And I love the idea of the pregnant lady to Mom with newborn set.

I'm glad to see the Wedding Tent back (need it for a plan I have). And I'm interested in the birthday party set. The lady with kids and wagon in the preschool line is on my wish list as well.

Now I just need to get a second job to cover my Playmobil expenses.

I really wish that I could just order from the german DS here in the Netherlands, its such a long wait and I could really use that merry men feast. I'd love to get the tailor too, I try to get one of each medieval house.

The merry men feast is definatly the big prize for me though. Beautifull tree, many medieval commoners, a monk, the beer mugs with foam, and I dont have a wooden hammer yet. Also only have one big barrel so I dont mind getting a second one.
The only replaced mold I spot is of the sherrif's sword, its using the new model. So I assume if anything else was replaced it would have shown.

And now I do hope they will rerelease the other merry men sets too in the future, the hunter group and hollow tree are definatly high on my personal wanted list.  :)

I like the musical instrument set! And I know it's not new to the catalogue, but the church! It's on my wish I'd bought at the time, but really don't need and can't quite justify list.

The street lamps will be my buy, and maybe it will be possible to fit them with LEDs.

Even if you can't fit them with LEDs (though I suspect it might still be possible) I'll still buy some for use in my zoo diorama.

And the merry men feast is already sold out, currently unavailable. That's sure to send them a message about the popularity of such sets.

Release on that set is delayed a few days due to production issues. It will be in stock soon.  There are always a few sets they don't get on the shelf in time for the release.

Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

I was just about to order the exact roof pieces of the maschinengebaude bauernhof. I guess I'll put that on hold for a year and invest in something else this year!!

I cannot believe there's no mention of the Colorado Springs Train Station in the posts so far!  ;D I was quite surprised by the Merry Men's Feast! Very great additions.

Beware, don't get too excited about the retired items that showed up out of nowhere like the Wedding Tent and the Church because these items likely won't be available outside of Germany. The discontinued items typically are not as great in other countries.  :-\

Yes, and when they ARE available, prices are NOT the same...

I wonder what it would cost them to go the whole hog and produce the boxes as well, and how big the market is for this kind of thing. Im mostly critical of playmobil these days, but it's true we did get some unexpected gems over the years, with these addons.

I for one wouldn't want to pay extra to get the boxes. Especially since no set is ever 100% identical to the original.

But the Colorado Springs, and the lamp post, and the Merry Men's Feast (even if it is crazy expensive): I am over the moon  ;D

I also love the hamburger restaurant, like Tiermann said. And all those new animals. It's gonna be a tough one on my bank account when all of this becomes available...

And I know it's not new to the catalogue, but the church! It's on my wish I'd bought at the time, but really don't need and can't quite justify list.

Same here :-)

40 euros isn't crazy expensive considering second hand price markets. It's normal for the monk to go for twenty euros, on ebay. His bible, afaik only available in this set, goes for a lot, too. 40 is decent, I think, considering how rare some parts are, like the silver spurs pn the sherrif and the purple bow tie on the long haired hussy.

But that stuff isn't rare anymore when it's re-issued... Rarity should not affect the price tag of a new item.

I just mean it's a whole lot of money for a handful of clickies, a tree, and some accessories. For 40 euros (more outside Germany), I'd expect a building or something.

But then the bell tower without the bell was over 60 euros, so no wonder  ::)

Geobra for years has been focused on scalpers, now we know a reason...... competition.  :P

he he, you have a point. im not very up to date as regards to the price of similarly sized new sets, so i wouldnt know if forty euro was expensive or not. still, you have to keep in mind how may of these sets are being produced. limited runs could affect the price ...

At first collectors were quite worried about the green Victorian car would devalue the tan one, and it did, substantially. It used to run close to $100 now they are $30

Now mint in seals box is a different story. Those seem to hold value for MISB collectors.

I think it's great to have reissues but I would like too see the same thing with the Victorian vehicles, new colors variants of old sets, just no pastels

Absolutely!  I'd love to see the Old Timer truck in a red or black version, and the car in black or white...

I do like re-issues because it allows those of us who have the originals to grow our set, or those of us who maybe weren't interested at the time to pick up similar.  When the 5300 Victorian House came out I got it, the fence set, and all of the rooms for Christmas.  My family wasn't well off so this was a huge deal.  But I never really had the money as a child to go back and pick up the car or the truck, and at the time the advertising stand and the other little sets (painter, porter, pretzel seller, etc) didn't really appeal to me.  But now I want all of those and can afford to spend money on them.  But it's hard to pay premium prices for them.  Heck I even missed out on the FAO version because at the time it came out I had other things that I needed, and when I had the extra money for it, it was gone.

I just noticed that the new 3 pack of soldiers for the Pirates theme, in addition to being too varied to constitute a real army builder pack, has a Western Colt pistol, not a flintlock!

http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=6436

How could they possibly have gotten that wrong? It's madness.

On the bright side they are bluecoats.

It is a little silly of them isn't it?
On the variation though... I'm seeing a dragoon, a marine, and an infantryman... just means I'll have to buy more sets to make 3 different groups... but since they are blue coats, finally, that should work out alright  ;) Now... bring on the whitecoats, greycoats, and greencoats next.  ;D

Interesting...my knowledge of the period is not good. I'm half inclined to do a little research to establish the accuracy of the uniforms - do you have a good reference?

I can't cite one specifically, but there is a military uniform book my brother has that has hundreds of pages of uniforms from 1600-1900

To me they look quite awfull though, I am not a fan of that shade of blue for soldiers either. I'd rather see the earlier dark blue return which would be a good fit both for french and american soldiers.

I haven't got one (yet), Tiermann, but the parts list confirms all the animals have the same part numbers as in the 3627 set, except the sprue of 6 chicks (305194360 in 6464, 30609740 in 3627)

I did see that, but I've learned better than to always believe what they say on those lists. I want to actually see a set opened from the bag before committing to which versions of animals they are.
Sad I am so untrusting  ::) :hmm: ;)
