:) this is little bit the sequel of chasing ghosts - http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=14672.0
:hmm: i didn't include the word ghosts because there is already a pirat-ghost theme.
:captain: :arrr: so, this is s thread about very rare pirate sets, only heard of but never seen, only seen once or twice or simply too difficult / far to get to an european collector.
;D i'm starting in the greek lyra world.

I'd give my eyeteeth for a modern boxed set of Napoleonic troops.

:captain: 3570antex - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/3570v2-ant-pirate-rowboat/
both nowadays impossible to find anywhere.
i have the 3570 and i love it.
i decided some yeaars ago to wait the price would come down before i bought the boat on ebay and now there's none for sale.
and antex doesn't make playmobil sets anymore. :'(
-
;D still in south and central america.
:captain: mexico:
mattel 13570 - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/13570-xat-pirate-with-rowboat-and-treasure/

:) 7 is such a beautiful number of figures to fill a box.
-
I'd give my eyeteeth for a modern boxed set of Napoleonic troops.
:o http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ultra-Rare-Playmobil-System-3925-Spanish-Exclusive-from-1984-NEU-NEW-MIB-NEUF-/261848830484?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item3cf7681214
:hmm: a little expensive.
-
Indeed, my eyeteeth are not worth half so much. ;D Looks really cool though!
-
I remember seeing that on stores...
-
the last "crazy" spanish sets, a mix of evertything...
:captain:9979 - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/9979-esp-pirate-cove/
:captain:9989 - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/9989-esp-pirate-jail-and-barbecue/
-
9989 looks like a great set that could be bought many times. It has great generic pirates with usefull body part colors, no skull and crossbones, the green guard, and plenty of leasure items.
-
That green guard! WOW
-
:) dark green, you mean.
:-[ i must confess that i still have my doubts about the "greenery" of the guard - for years i thought it was black.
anyway, it has a jacket so much darker than the "original" 3859 - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/3859-esp-pirates-prison-tower/
-
if my memory (actually my database) serves me well, these are the final 2 elusive sets:
:captain: yps magazine figur - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/0000v1-ger-yps-magazine-nr-284-soldier-figure/
:captain: kaufland 4935 pirate egg - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/4935-ger-pirate-red-egg/
funny thing, these last 2 sets they are german - the same country where geobra has his factories and offices.
:'( they shouldn't be so hard to find.
the color soldier i really don't care but the pirate figure in the egg is not only rare but also beautiful.
-
About that pirate beach party set.. it kind of tells a story.
The original has a soldier and a jailor with a pirate prisoner.
Theres also a set released without the pirate, where its implied the soldier wants to put the jailor in prison who is appearantly revealed to be a pirate?
And I gues the pirate escaped and got his buddies, and now they are all celibrating as the soldier is captured?
-
;D still in south and central america.
:captain: mexico:
mattel 13570 - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/13570-xat-pirate-with-rowboat-and-treasure/
aurimat 13909 - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/13909-aur-pirate-bandits-set/
:captain: brazil:
trol: 23.74.6 - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/23-74-6-trol-7-pirates/
Good luck with your search, I have both of the Mexico sets, they are not so rareeeee.
Anyway, Mexico is in North America not Central America.
Regards
-
Anyway, Mexico is in North America not Central America.
:) actually galahad, the united nations puts mexico in central america - http://unstats.un.org/unsd/methods/m49/m49regin.htm
;) a discussion about this could be started - all of central america could even be considered as part of the north side of america, being also in the northern hemisphere, etc. - but i don't think it's worth it.
-
If you go by continents then Central America is in fact a part of the continent of North America.
-

Any tips on finding them?
It will soon be part of north America soon enough.
-
the only place i found them, rasputin, was in www.mercadolibre.mexico.com.
when i posted my find, a klickywelt collector asked me the same and then asked me if he could buy them.
as i had no way to do it - and he did, having some collector friends in mexico - i didn't mind at all.
:) on the contrary, i was glad a bit of america (never mind if north or central or south) could come to europe.

Sail west from Europe and call everyone you meet an Indian!
Sorry, I couldn't resist that one!
-

I agree that the guard's tunic looks very dark green on the 9989 box picture, but is that borne out in the actual klicky? PlaymoDB has this Klicky as the same as the one in 3859 and 3914. All the other klickies also look the same as klickies which have appeared in other sets, in fact 9989 seems to contain no unique parts (apart from the box), so you could make it up from other sets (unless that is cheating!).
Edit: here's (http://www.ebay.es/itm/9989-CARCEL-PIRATA-KNIGHT-RITTER-SPAIN-EXCLUSIVE-PLAYMOBIL-VINTAGE-/291433081401?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item43dac3ea39)one that looks (ordinary) green.
-
thank you graham-b - comparing the 2, the green seems to be exactly the same.
no yellow cuffs or collar in the spanish set though.
maybe that's what makes it look darker.
8} in a closer look, how the hell those pirates let someone in chains have a rifle beats me.
::) maybe someone told them they weren't in the caribbean but, instead, in north america and they got confused.
:) cristobal colón is to blame for all this.
-
:) there's still one.
:lens: the north american 3570 schaper pirate - http://www.klickypedia.com/sets/3570-sch-pirate-rowboat/
from the outside it looks just like the other europen sets but, inside, the figure is different.
it actually looks like the mexican 13570 set.
:hmm: come to think of it, this is the only image i have of this set.
??? could it be that the interior was replaced with a mattel one?.
-

Sorry, I couldn't resist that one!
Well, I departed from Calais and reached shore after just a very few nautical miles...
The inhabitants call their land "(Little) Britain" ...or was it "England"... no, wait... "United Kingdom"....ehrr..."Wales" perhaps?....nope... Whatever, we call them Redbeafs. And folks overthere are not sure weither or not they want to belong to Europe. So most likely we´re gonna call them Indians too. ;D

Little Britain will do for me (thanks to the comedy series of the same name starring Matt Lucas and David Walliams !) though the official name is UK.
As to whether 'we' want to be part of Europe or not, well THAT's an interesting subject and a big part of the General Election campaigns we are suffering here at the moment!
-
i have some :p
The pictures of the Lyra, famobil and telepizza are from my collection
collecting for a long time has these advantages....
-
:-[ i am sorry for uing your pictures without asking you first aleon.
i don't know where i got them from.
but i always try to ask for permission first - so i guess they are "second hand" pictures from somewhere - i don't whom i asked.
:'( i am so envy of you having the lyra sets - specially the lonely pirate.
i've lost one for incompetent bidding and never saw one again.
:) is there any other rarities you would like to share?
:) i was helping with the klickypedia database but run-out of sets.
-
:-[ i am sorry for uing your pictures without asking you first aleon.
Ey, don't worry!!!!
I share all my pictures, It's not a problem.
My collection is here (not all but my best items are here)
http://www.playclicks.com/galeria/index.php?cat=10004
-
thanks aleon.
i also try to share all i have.
that's why i loved klickypedia.
...
:o you have the yoplait sets - i´ve heard they existed - fantastic.
can i add them here and on klickypedia?
-
sure,
I see you like pirates. I have 6 pirates, and I think I have all. I never have seen any other.
There are the pirates of the famobil box 3280 and too one with black body with green arms and legs.
There are too 6 indians (2 girls, 2 chiefs, and 2 men).
there is a post in playclicks talking about them.
http://www.playclicks.com/playforos/index.php?topic=25811.30
If you do not find the 6 pictures let me know and I will send the ones you need.
-
:) thanks aleon.
you have the spirit of a true playmo-friend.
:-[ being on the "wrong" side of our common border made me forget to search for playmobil PIRATAS instead of pirates or piraten.
stupid of me.
i will look into your threads.
-
:) thanks to aleon, here are the spanish yoplait promotionals
-
and tha last 3 ...

:hmm: a little expensive.
:lens: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
thanks! NOW i finally understand it. I had way too much of these guys in my last purchase of pm, AND i couldn't find the correct artillery set to go with that cannon.
I have this entire set complete, but without box!
