And now, for something completely different....
The Polish Winged Hussar, as requested a lont time ago by my friend, Master Javi-Malone:

It still needs some painting, and a leopard skin across his chest, but I was eager to show it anyway!
The saddle is a 3D design by Neo.

holy cow  (I thought saw a mounted samurai ;D )
....your feathers might last longer than those Red Indian chief's headress (mine has been disintegrating everytime I touch them :'( ) ...there's so many possibilities once you have mastered this skill Arnaud ;)

Funny war outfit, it looks great. I guess it supposed to scare the enemy??
-
@Walter: I guess it was to scare the enemy, though it might just have been for ...style!
@Cheng: I saw some samurai riders with some kind of big paper "balloon" in their back, do you know what those were called?
***edit: found it! It's a horo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horo_(cloak)***

According to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_hussars ; the explanation is following :
The most common theory is that the hussars wore the wings because they made a loud, clattering noise which made it seem like the cavalry was much larger than in reality and frightened the enemy's horses. Other possibilities included the wings being made to defend the backs of the men against swords and lassos, or that they were worn to make their own horses deaf to the wooden noise-makers used by the Ottoman and the Crimean Tatars.

^ That's really interesting. Thank you.

Some of the coolest looking warriors in history. Excellent custom, cowabounga!

Interesting explanations suppose it makes a sort of sense when you see the reasons they're suggesting although it's still very unusual

Didnt many Aztec warriors and warriors of similar tribes often have similar wings on their back? though they seemed to portray specific animals, predators.
