Title: The Pirate Retirement Home
Post by: Raven on March 15, 2015, 05:10:49
The structure of this building was inspired by a large farmhouse that I saw advertised for sale, and very much liked.  I had the intention of creating a farmhouse too, but then it got taken over by pirates, and turned into a Pirate Retirement Home.

The accommodation needs of retired pirates are quite basic.  Even Vainbeard, the owner of the Retirement Home, has a simple room.

Somewhere to sleep, and somewhere to store their treasures is all that is required.  This is William.  In the past, he wanted to be known as Redbeard, but there was already a Redbeard aboard the ship, and therefore he was told that he would be Redbeard the Second.  He didn't want to be Second, however, so he said he would just be William.

Rupert is a practical pirate, a hard worker.

And The Admiral likes to tell long stories about his adventurous life.

Long-time friends Bald Henry and John the Dare share a room.

The Captain shares only with his parrot.

There is also a Cook at the Home, but he doesn't live there.

Life at the Retirement Home is quite serene.

Haha, brilliant  :)  I like the design of the building and the sign over the door.
That guy dusting a canon, nice touch!

It looks like a very nice place to live with plenty of room, some pirates did go for an early retirement, only the owner has grey hair.  :)

:)  The guy dusting the cannon was Mr Raven's doing.  I had placed another table and benches there, but he took them away and replaced them with Rupert the Pirate being industrious.

It was lots of fun to make it. The captain retired after he sold his ship to the fairies;

Lovely building with very interesting residents. I really would like to take a look in the activity room. Do they hold organised drinking games?

Great system x building. The red roof works

I just think the bushes with flowers on the wall is weird. How would plants grow there with out soil?

Playmobil Magic.

The same magic that allows people to ascend to floor levels without any stairs; produce plates and dishes in their kitchens without any cupboards; keep farm animals who never produce dung (except the occasional horse who does some chocolate ice-cream dung);  and many other things also.

(I'm particularly fond of the magic invisible cupboards.  Though I tell myself that they are ALL on the side of the wall that I apparently removed to take the photos.)

Nice I really like the idea and your introduction. I also really like  the way you've done this love the fact all the pirates have hammocks except the Captain and the way the rooms are decorated with gem stones and such like plus the details like Rupert (I particularly like his outfit) cleaning the cannon and the part pirate ship outside great stuff.  :arrr: :captain:

You'd be surprised plants have evolved to be very adaptable some plants can grow in places with little to no soil like cracks in paving slabs

 Yeah magic's good as well not sure whether plates appearing from a lack of cupboards is magic so much a slack of space but, hey, just don't tell the klickies they're eating magic ice cream dung it may not go down so well  ;) :o

LOL, nice idea and well made!
I´m not really a pirate, but if I don´t get killed during seabattle I´d certainly prefer  to spend my retirement overthere and not in the Redcoats´ Military Hospital.
