Being in the US, this is my first time seeing the new textured armor up close.
This is the promo figure I got visiting the Playmobil booth at the US Toy Fair.

It looks great! I've only had it a little while, but it seems pretty durable. I don't think it'll chip off.
It's got a matte type finish to it. I love it. This small detail could stir up some interest in the upcoming medieval lines. I have the old Steck system castles, so I haven't been into the System X knights. I did get the Asian Dragon castles for Christmas.

It's used in the bagged red jousting knight set. It's pretty nice and is done with the plastic itself rather than being a paint job or something that will wear off. Very nice if you want a used look.

Thanks Tierman! I wasn't sure.

That is a very cool armor.
The axe sucks though.

I wish they would use this more often. Like for common soldiers, for weapons and shields.. would be nice.
The black swords of this fellow are nice too by the way! I wouldnt want many black weapons but the occasional one is nice.. can make it out to be a rare metal or such.

It is a bit similar to the wolf knights a few years back right ? :irish:
