Here is the latest figure that I made, I used epoxy to sculpt this hair piece. He is a Viking Hero.

Wow, that hair is great, did you make it yourself?
-
He is übercool, not just the amazing looking long hair resting over his shoulders, but also the colours of his clothes and the tattoos and eye patch etc.
-
Now I see that I overlooked the text... You sculpted it yourself, it's great!
-
Great figure! :)
-
Very nice that outfit win those colour and with the bare arms and those legs. The hair piece looks great nice flowing hair can see plenty of uses for that, oh yes and that axe looks good as well like some other ones I've seen, did you just cut the top of one of the longer pieces? :)
-
He's gorgeous!
Can we have a back shot?

Thank You for your kind words, I was going to post these other pictures but it got too late. I have done most of my work making new beards and fur capes. I have tried in the past to make a hair piece, but with out any success. 2 days ago, I tried this new method. I use a epoxy that is called kneadatite, or as it is more commonly called "Green Stuff" or "Brown Stuff". I use the "Brown Stuff" most of the time. It is a 2 part epoxy, that when you mix together in equal parts becomes a hard plastic/rubber type product. You have about an hour timeline to mold or sculpt what ever you want before it starts to harden. Anyway, I used to take one piece of the epoxy to sculpt a hair piece and I really never like the way it turned out. I am still a novice with doing this, I just keep learning as I go ahead. The new way I tried after watching a video on youtube, was to take 4 or more pieces and then blend them together.

Looks great (I tend to like long hair on klickys :) ). I suppose it doesn't have the same... feel as a playmohair, though? You can't put it on and off?
I only tried one hairpiece (Xenan's - LINK (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=14392.0)) , and it sure is not the same... I'd be very interested if there was a material that allowed it to be like playmohair...
(I've seen great stuff on your blog, yes... :) )

I feels like a hard plastic that has a little flex to it. As time goes on it will be like plastic. This hair piece I placed over an old playmobil hair piece, but it come off when I was removing it from my test klicky. So this hair piece as it is now, just placed on top of the klicky hair piece. And will fall off if I turn him upside down. Next hair piece I hope to make better. Thanks for looking at the blog page :)

Here is one of my Viking Leaders that I made last week. I made the fur cape out of epoxy and dded a 3D Printed Axe made by Cowaboungda on Scultpeo. Which I then painted. I use mainly use the wargamming paints which flake less than other paints. Also on most items I paint, I spray it with a matte sealer.

Saw that one before too
(wish I could get that beard in several colors.. so far I have ONE white, from a santa)
-
I was fooling around today, trying to come up with something different. Here are some of the things I did, not bad for the first time making a beard like this and I added the braids to the beards also.

Awesome looking!!!

I saw them at the PCC too: they're gorgeous
I wonder if Playmobil is paying attention...

Nice customs interesting to hear how you're making these pieces it sure looks as though you're doing a good job on them so be interested to see what you'll be able to d when you're well practised and have perfected the technique, those beards look very good and I really like that axe nice design and very realistically painted :)

Thanks everyone, it is all trial and error. Sometimes I start with one idea in mind and then it does not work and I think of something else. Or I can't do what I try and make a club or a fur cape, lol. I made a few new beards that last couple of weeks, here is another shot of some of them. I will make a post in the how to section one of these days.

That hair+beard are painted? LOVE the color.
-
Totally agree, it's a great looking combo!
-
Looks great, how do you paint your hair and how well does the paint stay on?
-
I use the wargamming paints. Either Vallejo or the ones made by Game Workshop, first I use a primer to coat the piece, then paint and use a sealer so it won't flake. Thanks everybody, these new hair pieces only work with certain beards.
-
Great work.
I like you're vikings!
-
I think that is the stuf I need to make te hair for my muskox project.
Is it easy to work with?
-
Yes, I will make a help page to show what and how to do things. I will try doing that this weekend. It is really is simple, not to hard once you get the hang of it.
-
Look forward to it.
-
Going to start a post now and add more to it this weekend or sooner. First I will post a video about blue stuff, which will give you some ideas.

Denen möchte ich nicht allein in einer dunklen Ecke begegnen - wouldn't want to run into those lads in a dark alley 8}.
