Title: The Voice UK

I've just seen an advertisement for "The Voice UK 2015" and it reminded me that I had never posted the photos from the version of this that we did for Kirkbean Exhibition last year.

For anyone who doesn't know it, The Voice UK is a talent show for singers where the judges sit with their back to the performers and if they are impressed with what they hear they turn around.  (I believe there is a US version of this).

My eldest son James loves all these music talent shows and wanted us to make a diorama of one for the exhibition, so this was all his idea, I just made the relevant parts under his instruction!

The four judges were Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Will.i.am and Ricky Wilson.

After the singers are chosen they go backstage to meet up with their family, are interviewed by two presenters and before the next stage of the contest they meet with the judge who has chosen them to rehearse for the next episode.  We tried to show this with three small scenarios ...

To add to the atmosphere James played music with his ipod attached to the stage... it did get a bit loud sometimes - (eventually we did have to move the display away from Walter (Walts-Trains)!

In case anyone wants to know how I made the chairs, they were spares I had from the space station, fitted with funky foam.  I fitted the chairs on to the  tops of some crayola pencil crayons which I then stuck to a sweet tin lid which I had painted and they did actually  turn around!
The desks with the buzzers I had to cut out and make out of strong card.

It was quite a challenge, but fun to make.  I am pleased to say that visitors both  young and old recognised it!

It's a great looking diorama Elaine. It totally gets across the look of those shows while combining nicely with the Playmo sets.

I remember seeing this in the pictures of the Kirkbean Exhibition, but not in detail.
It looks really good and lifelike. Great idea for the buzzers, and the desks.  ;D

You've done a great job me and my Mum watch the Voice as well. I like the chairs and settup as well and the ideas for the 3 smaller dioramas showing the process afterwards is a really good idea  :)

Didn't you show something similar to this earlier this year I'm sure I saw someone post photos of a settup for the Voice  :eh?:.

It sure turned out realistic. Great job to you and you son. Was it a fun bonding experience it seems it could be?

I thought I had posted here. ???  Elaine, this is just adorable! I have been thinking about doing a simple little show with judges for my niece to play with. But this is really well done, much better than I was planning. Great little dio!
