Title: Custom NASA Orion capsule (decals included!!)

My son and I are very excited that NASA has announced its plan for sending astronauts to Mars, and a return to the moon! We recently picked up the Playmobil Rescue Raft (5545) from Toys R Us. I spray painted the orange part black, and then custom designed the decals. You can download your own set of decals (http://ageowns.com/pdf/oriontemplate.pdf) here.

I added packing tape to "water seal" the decals before taking photos of it in water. Speaking of water, some orange ping pong balls worked great for these shots.

Great looking custom. It looks just perfect. It's really a neat idea with an otherwise odd set. If that thing is a life raft from a ship, where is the ship?

Great looking custom! Really like it better than the original set.
I assume the ship sank, which is why they are using the life raft....

I wonder if the original idea for the orange raft was inspired by the popularity (?) of the movie Captain Phillips starring Tom Hanks?

Great idea it looks great painted black with those decals the photos are really good. Great idea using those ping pong balls balls would probably not have guessed that's what they were if you hadn't said and also the parachute another great idea looks like lots of fun.

This is great!.  When you send your suggestion to the Smithosonian Air and Space museum to consider Playmobil specials in the gift shop, be sure to include these photos.
