I recently read The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt by Toby Wilkinson and I immediately started to setup my Egyptian playmo stuff. Here some pictures of the "diorama". Hope you like them.

That's a fantastic diorama. I really don't have enough Egyptians. Lots of great ideas there. One thing I noticed from Brubil's Egyptian diorama at Speyer was that he used brooms as papyrus, stacking leaf fronds up the handle as leaves, it looked really nice.

That is great!
Like Tiermann said, wonderful ideas there - I like the fire on the well!
Thanks for sharing :)

Very nice settup it really feel as though you've captured them all just going about their daily buisness. Lovely scenery particularly the little village with all the houses and using the combination of paper and water for the river and loads of variety in the figures which I really like as well I particularly like the kids and the guys working on the pyramid.
I also couldn't help but, notice that the feather one of the guy's using to write with is very conviniently positioned to cover one of the slaves lower body ;)

This is fantastic! :D
The offering ceremony is really neat. And the panthers on top of the gate. The gifts offered to the farao in his tent. The market stall roof used on top of the white hut. The toy horse for the baby. The army lined up. The busy marketplace.
I need to go watch it again now!
P.S. There's a guy cleaning the pyramid ;D

I should read that book, especially if it is so inspirational as to have you create such a great looking diorama.
thanks for sharing

Thanks for the kind words :xholly:

To bad the book tries to describe the reality and the common folk were most likely not as happy as the klickies...

Yep, has to look shiny for the pharaoh! :sparkle:

Didn't noticed it myself, pure coincidence......

A common social reality, even today.

Yes I'm sure :) ;) it's hardly a major thing which stands out, couldn't tell for sure whether he actually had short son or bare legs

My favourite: The pyramid-cleaner! Brillant! Der Pyramidenpolierer ist mein absoluter Favorit. Klasse!

Fantastic! So many wonderful details. I really like how you used the well to make sort of an altar, I guess, for incense or whatever. The baby in the crate was cute, too. And the guy cleaning the pyramid is hilarious! Did I spot a custom bikini slave in there? The lady in blue on top of the house is a great custom, too.

like watching one of those old great and colorful MGM movies of my childhood :xmascheer:

Such a nice and vivid diorama. I love the people and animals living normale lives surrounded by a very impressive historical background.
