Yeah a crown or some high Roman headdress...I had limited material to work with. Can't be Cleo because the opposing army would be Egyptians, only I don't have enough klickies to make it.

That's good, didn't catch the chess set thing until you mentioned it.
The opposition could be barbarians too. Plenty of those available still these days.

Yeah but I'm a purist and would only use the Gauls (7924 aka "The Asterix set") and the Gaul leader (7923 aka "Vercingetorix"). And that's not enough to make a chess army.

Joking aside, I feel like I've seen this idea before, namely a chess set made of klickies, so someone else would probably get the royalties.

But still, I could totaly see a legit PM chess set selling in a store.

ACW would make a great theme for a PM chess set. The queens could have those giant dresses. Rooks would be cannons.

I knew I'd seen the idea somewhere before! I'm sure it was your pictures Lynx!

You did a great job with your sets, I dig your approach and they look very playable, with all figures being the same size. The poker chip idea for height is great.

My favourite though has to be your Gaul queen, two-fisting a pair of swords. That's got to be Boadicea!

I had a thought to use ballistae for my Roman rooks but they are too unstable! How irritating.
