I'm sure it's been covered but indulge me: what culture is this figure meant to be from? I'd hazard Bali or somewhere else in the Indonesian Kulturraum.

Playmobil has called her Balinese on the photo they posted to their social media accounts. So yes I think Bali is about right
-
Thanks! I wonder how many cultures they plan to do.

Was in Bali 2 weeks ago..geobra does research I believe but the hat is narrower more like a pope's n they don't use foldable fans as far as I know....well....its passable I suppose...just like those Chinese ninjas collectively termed as Asians
-
;D
-
my apologies Geobra and PFs...like I said, Geobra does research...this hat is made from tiny flowers (while the 'crown' I had in mind is the other one which is also worn by men-of-war, in dances and movies)
-
and they do use these fans....wonder who used them first...the ancient Chinese or they borrowed the idea from Spanish merchants....its embaressing...how much more I don't know (even though I thought I knew, after all these years :P)
