				Three generations of Playmobil trains:

 — Faller Mini Playtrain 3502 (not motorized) / 3515 (motorized)

 — Eco Playtrain 621004 (I quess, although my locomotive is green. The Faller Playtrain has flags and a cowcatcher).

 — Playmobil 4051 steamlocomotive (renumbered on the cab, new motor).

This looks like an interesting topic, Marco.  I hope you've more pictures for us.

I like the idea of renumbering a loco when the motor is changed.  Did you change it for another Playmobil one or an LGB one?  (Or is that for another topic?)
-
I have changed it for an original Playmobil motor. The previous owner had tried to build in a digital decoder. Because he had used a too hot and too large soldering iron some cog wheels were damaged beyond repair.
The missing lamp I've got from a friendly scottish man on this forum.

Meanwhile 4051 did not only run on my layout, but also on a layout in Enschede (eastern Holland) and on the Millstone Garden Railways.

If you are patient, and look on the german eBay (http://www.ebay.de) you will find at times these old trains.
Search on the german ebay for "Faller (mini) PlayTrain". The yellow/blue 3502 is not motorized, the red/green 3515 is motorized. It's battery operated.
Please read careful the description on eBay, because Faller e-Train works on a 12 Volt= transformer, fed by metal rails.

Thanks for the info! I only have the LGB trains and tracks, is that what would work for the Faller e-train?

But I wouldn't mind if it wasn't motorized, anyway. That would probably cost less too, I imagine.
-
Yes. And if you have 3502 and you can't find rails, any 0 gauge rails will do (as long as it isn't fine scale).
A train always looks better on rails.
-
The Faller train was not made by Playmobil they are a different company. Faller made the Hit Train.

There is one important difference between LGB/Playmobil trains and Faller trains for Playmobil:
 > The track gauge from LGB/Playmobil trains is 45 mm.
 > The track gauge from Faller trains for Playmobil is 32 mm.

				Hmmm, that's what I thought...

If I do find a Faller train, I'll look for some rails to match.
