Title: Separating the grey cable block from the base of Alpine Cable Car set

Hello,

What's the best way to remove the gray tower block that stores the cables for the Alpine Cable Car off the base to make storage easier? Is it just stuck that way once it is put into position, or is there a secret way to separate the two? Been trying to push the tabs out but with no luck. (All other parts came apart easily except for this darn tower block).
