Title: 5555 Candy stall
Post by: sunflower on May 02, 2014, 12:52:25
Last weekend we visited the zoo in Munster Germany. I was hoping to visit a toyshop and buy one of the new items from the fair. I was not lucky. They didn't have them yet. But today in our local Bart Smit I found it.

The box looks very attractive to me. I love the pictures on it. It is a small but broad box.

Oh, and my excuses for the bad shop display picture. I took it with my phone and while doing that my four year old pulled way too hard on a iPad that was there to try out and he activated the alarm and I forgot to take a better one... Never take your kids to a toystore.

Well and then the contents of the box.

I was in shock by the amount of stickers. I am not that good at getting them straight.

This set is very cute!!I like it so much even if I don't like the other sets of these series, because they're too electronic with batteries etc.

I think it took me about fifteen minutes to put all the stickers in place. I am not dissatisfied by the result. But I would have liked it better when some of it was printed.

I love the cups with straws. They have two holes on the side for good grip. They fit better in the hands of the adults but the children can also hold them.

I think the design of the ice label is very well done. I love the cute polar bear on the freezer and the billboard. The same sign can be seen on the icecreams also.

The other candies are not too recognisable for (at least my) children. They have never eaten a caramel apple. I once did in Germany.
And the other bottles and cartons are printed with dots and flowers. You can use your own imagination for the content.

The lemonademachine is very pretty. I am sure the visitors of my zoo will like this candy stall.

The klicky's that come with it are nice. I think the blond boy looks a bit funny with his tinted skin. I'm glad the employees of the carnival don't wear 'uniforms'. She has a small Ferris wheel on her sweater but she can easily be used in other settings.

Thanks for a closer look at this set!

I really like the cups with straws and the lemonade dispenser.

And the boy's shirt with the guitar on it is cute.

Thanks for the review and detailed pics.

The polar bear is indeed very very nice!

I really like the cups with straws and the lemonade dispenser.

Me too! Especially the cups. Though I don't know if we should get it for that. Probably not....  (yes, this is an attempt at restraint!)

I was in Fnac today and saw the new sets too. Always exciting to see a new theme appear on the shelves  :)

That's a very nice set, thanks for the review. I've got one of those ice cream freezers from a camping theme set, but those new cups with straws and the lemonade machine make me want to buy the entire set too. For now, I was able to resist, but...

So those apples aren't a regular treat you get in fairs in the Netherlands?

To be honest I'm not too fond of fairs. But I never saw them.

For the same reason this will probably be the only item of this theme I'll buy.
(And also have seen A lot of wannahaves in the new ds brochure...)

Thanks for the detailed review and all the pics.

I still don't know if I will get this set - it is a bit busy and I'm not sure how it would look without some of the stickers. (I generally only apply stickers that I think are absolutely necessary.)   I just got a hotdog stand for our zoo but this looks to be a new style of market stall which could be nice for variety.

I also love the cups with straws and hope they will show up in more sets.  And the lemonade dispenser and the trash or recycling can.

Thanks again!

Wow!  I can't wait for these sets to be available here in the US (wonder if TRU will buy them early like they did with the dragons).

Thanks for the review!

I saw photos of this on Facebook and thought it looked really good a nice colourful bold design on all the ice creams and signs so it's great to see a really good review of this set. I like the fact that it's got a good selection the cups seem well designed and I really like the ice cream snacks as well, I remember having toffee apples when I was a kid many years ago they alway tasted very good last year I spotted some chocolate covered apples at a quite reasonable price so I had to treat myself to one, anyway I also like the figures they all look good and I think the shirt desing on the kids are particuarly good especially the little boy  :)

That's a great looking set and very useful for a number of settings. I definitely will be wanting at least one or two of them. I know you weren't really happy with all the stickers, but it's actually a really good thing. It means you can scan the sticker sheet and make your own. So the set can be converted to other uses easily - like a gift stand for the zoo, or just ice cream, or just drinks etc.

Thank you for all your kind comments!

Tiermann you have a good point. I never thought of that, but it sounds like fun to create your own stall. Thank you.

I bought the set this week and I'm in love with the drinking cups and the cute juice maker.
A really nice set that will fit into a lot of themes. I'm not a big fan of the other pieces of the theme, like the ferries wheel.

Thanks for the review of a must have set for us. Don't want to look too closely at your review as we want to "be surprised" this theme is very festive looking

Leefert, Almost the whole theme is at TRU in the US

I had to go to a second TRU to find this one (the other one didn't have all of the theme out).  I must say I love this set with all of the accessories.  I'm happier to spend $19.99 on it than I was to spend 21.99 on that train

I absolutely love this set.  I'm not too keen on the appearance of the klickies, but the actual stall makes up for it.  The candy apples are so realistically shiny; the drinks dispenser is wonderful; the drinks with straws are cute; the cash register is lovely; and the way everything fits together so snugly in a line is perfect - I can move the stall around without anything falling off or over.

And I love the bin, too.  I'd like more of these.  So good for the outdoors.  And a nice size too:

I got this set and I LOVE IT!!
I agree; the amount of stickers is brutal! But after all they look great! Also agree that the boy looks odd with that skin color but also the short sleeve t-shirt over a long sleeves one ... that makes the arms look weird... the kid is completely off.  :-\

Anyway: the cups with straw, the ice creams, the juicer, the apples  (I never saw PM red apples, do they exist?) everything make this set  worth every cent!
