This for once isn't just tossing ideas around, I am actively working on developing a board game featuring playmobil.
I already have worked out all the mechanics, all I have to do is balancing out the locations on the board and it will be ready to playtest.
Once I've tried it a few times and tweaked it if need be, I'll present the idea to Geobra and I'll hope they will pick it up.
However if they don't pick it up, I'll make sure to share pictures, rules and everything of the game up here so anyone who is interested could create it themselves.
Either way there will be a board game of playmobil comeing your way. :)

Sounds fun!

Cool idea, Rhalius! I look forward to seeing more details about it.

Interesting will look forward to hearing more about this it sounds good, one of my friends brought a LEGO Lord Of The Rings board game to one of our meet ups we didn't get round to playing it becuase it took a while for assembly it looked good though and sounded much calmer and less frustrating than the card game the others were playing ;D. It would be nice if Playmobil created a game which had some sort of educational value to it, not thining of anything to specific but, just the sort of games we played when I was a kid where you had to get your figure from school to do post letters, buy loaves of bread etc. on the way home.

Heh well my game is more the "learning through play" kind of thing.. children can learn to strategize a bit, testing their memory, and prioritise decisions.. theres quite some decisions to make in this game. Nothing too complicated though. The clickies themselves are there to help them with it.
Currently busy with drawing the gameboard.. I made a rough draft on the computer in paint, and am working to copy it on a huge gameboard.. its quite big but considering the various box sizes playmobil produces, they'd be able to have it folded only once and fit in a big box.. a flatter box than usual, but still.
It simply needs a large board considering that the tiles need to be big enough for a clicky to stand on, and some chests are needed too which also take up space. The game would be over too quickly otherwise... and I still think the game can be over quite quickly.. 15 minutes or such I think.

What age range/skill level are you aiming for?

I am aiming for a 6+ kind of rating. There will be some luck involved but also a bit of strategy. I also plan to have a set of advanced optional rules that can be left out for younger players, but which can keep adults and older kids entertained.
The basic game won't really have much in the way of giving your fellow players a hard time, but the advanced rules will allow for some dirty tactics that might prove to be too much for the average six year old to deal with. But if they want to, they still can.

dirty tactics
I can't wait to let my children try these out on one another! >:D

Ooh, I like the idea of having two sets of rules. It allows for more flexibility.

What a fantastic idea
Please do let us know how you get along with this exciting project ;)

I've playtested quite a bit last week just by myself for now.. been thinking about changes this week and will do more playtesting and changing next week.
All the elements seem to work well, just need to change things up a bit to improve the flow of the game. The endgame seemed to encourage way too much backstabbing to the point that it could become an endless cycle. Also a good chance some players would have to play around still despite their loss already being certain so I'm still tweaking the rules a bit so it can remain an enjoyable experience all the way through.
But in general I am quite happy with how the backstabbing works since it can backfire.
My apologies for not elaborating much on it yet, all will be revealed in time. Just keeping things vague in case playmobil might have interest in producing the game.
