Title: Little miracles in B.A.
Post by: tonguello on April 05, 2014, 16:33:34
I use to have a thread where I showed all my purchases.
For known reasons I am opening a new one and call it LITTLE MIRACLES IN B.A. (B.A. = Buenos Aires)  ;)

Here is what I found yesterday

(http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/DSCF6314_zpsb6156d9a.jpg) (http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/tonguello/media/DSCF6314_zpsb6156d9a.jpg.html)

(http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/DSCF6315_zps327e2c88.jpg) (http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/tonguello/media/DSCF6315_zps327e2c88.jpg.html)

I love those!!
I think the big tree is missing a foliage piece, can someone confirm? I don't find a pic that shows the whole tree.
This one brougth an extra branch not shown in the pic so it was a good deal anyway.  :)

Great finds!   :)  The magic ones are some of my favourite sets. I bought all of them when they were released except for the green guy, and now I'm kicking myself.

Nice sets those!
The magic tree building instructions are available online (http://playmobil.scene7.com/is/content/Playmobil/3897pdf.pdf (http://playmobil.scene7.com/is/content/Playmobil/3897pdf.pdf)) and show two large (which you have) and one small green foliage pieces in this set. I would send you one, but it might take a while to reach you... I am glad to see you don't have to rely upon imports for all your Playmobil purchases!

Those old magic sets are lovely and those look in perfect condition.  Enjoy!

Great finds. Those are really neat old sets that I look out for often.  It would be nice if Geobra could do more weird plant colors and faces like that purple one and the tree trunk.

Awesome looking finds well done loving the palnts and the Druid feel of the firts Wizard. That tree's also interesting and I really like the little Gnome and the pattern on the adult Gnome his leaf cloack looks like a really good piece on the instructions  :)

Thank you everyone!!

Here's a couple more. Newly realeased sets.

(http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/easter2014/8_zps1200a030.jpg) (http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/tonguello/media/easter2014/8_zps1200a030.jpg.html)

I don't know why but I love the camping sets. This one has a couple of things that are new to me, like the child with sandals  the electric cooler  and the pins (is that the name for the thingies that hold the clothe in the hanger?)
Also, I don't remember seeing a clear bottle of that type before.  ??? but I love it of course.
The tent is great though the color in the box is a bit deceiving, the yellow is a lot more paler  >:( which I think is horrible.
All in all, I love the set.

AND.....

(http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/easter2014/1_zps2a094597.jpg) (http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/tonguello/media/easter2014/1_zps2a094597.jpg.html)

At first I hated the shopping mall theme... but I took a fancy of it. Most of all with the ladies and the dresses.
This is clearly a "girl's" set (yeah right, as if that was going to stop me!) but WHY ON EARTH did they have to make everything freaking pink?? A pink computer? REALLY? How am I suppose to use that desk for a police station?  >:(
If the pink things in this set were black or grey or blue, that wouldn't make the set less girly,  people!!!

Anyway, I love it and I find it very funny. The clerk looks too much like a soccer mom to be a stylist  ::). The client can't sit on the chair because of the dress. It's ok for when they wash her hair... but when they cut it and brush it she has to lay down too?? all stiff!

And best of all is this: I was aware of the rule: Shoes must match belt (and purse), but....

(http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb432/tonguello/easter2014/2_zpsc078a161.jpg) (http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/tonguello/media/easter2014/2_zpsc078a161.jpg.html)

... the panties?
Is that just in case the shoes shine too much?  :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Anyway I love the set and I will use it sooner than you expect  ;D

I'm glad to see these reached you with the crazy import controls in your country!

'Clothes pegs' for me,  but I think its 'clothespins' in US and CDN.

If you combine the two sets with the police station, the pink computer would be good for camp officers, perhaps? (look up alternative meaning for 'camp' if you don't get this!).

One of my daughters (age 10) has just bought a dress-up girl set (5611, Take Along in a PINK box, of course) which she loves (anything pink for her!). I can see she will want many more similar sets. The underwear and shoes don't co-ordinate in her set, though!
Its a shame the dresses restrict what the figures can do- I hadn't realised they were hard plastic. They can't even bend at the waist with the dress on. I thought the dresses would be rubbery, like 'Polly Pocket' clothes. And the eyes are 'ordinary' PM eyes, unlike the eyes in the artwork used to promote these sets!

I'm not sure if it's a US exclusive, but the Carrying Case Shop 5611 http://www.playmobil.us/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=5611 (http://www.playmobil.us/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=5611)  has the same sales desk but with a grey computer.

Thanks for all the pictures, I like both that camping set and the hair salon.

Yes, clothespins. As far as I know, this part first appeared in the Victorian laundry set.

Great stuff I've got to admit the whole shopping mall theme isn't really for me and perosnally I'm not particularly keen on those big dresses but, I guess I can see the appeal for little girls particularly of dressing and undressing figures and trying out different hairstyles in the salon at least yours is getting plenty of customers.

I like the camping set a little tent would be just the thing for taking with me so my Klickies can properly enjoy camping with me this summer although I'm considering just improvising some skewers in the ground for a basic frame and finding an appropriate material for draping over.  Anyway it looks good like the Klickies particularly the little girl with the sandals and the bandanna nice touch

I love your commentaries on the new sets, Gaston, they always make me laugh! I do love how their shoes always match their panties. I guess if you wanted to do a swimsuit contest it would work out. ;)

And yeah, the chair in the salon is a bit awkward. I love the new dresses but not being able to sit down is a bit of a problem.

The pink is a big problem for me too, but I got the hair salon set too because there were some things that were too nice to pass, like the wrist watches and the lady clickies.

And all the camping sets are great  :)

I really love those tents (that set is on the way ;) ), but the hair salon thing looks more like an execution table than anything else...

I hate it that they can't sit, and I think the "dressing up" is not playmolike at all. But that could be me.  :P

I don't understand the "camp" thing  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Some things don't translate easily, Gaston!
Originally the word 'camp' might be used to mean 'effeminate' (e.g. a pink computer used by a male police officer would have been thought 'camp' at one time) but is now often applied to anything which is deliberately out-of-place or 'self-consciously artificial'. Wikipedia says Bette Midler often portrays 'camp' characters, for example. Given my age (over 30- and the rest!), I was using 'camp' in its now rather outdated meaning.
Hope that clears that up. Perhaps I should keep my puns to myself in future. ;D

Great reviews and pictures, Gaston.  The camping set is interesting and has quite a few neat accessories.  This is hard to resist but I am trying to restrain myself from buying anything new.   :(  Aside from the woman with matching pumps and panties, the salon holds little interest and that is a good thing for my wallet!

You can google this but just in case, Loco Mia was a spanish pop group in the late 80's, very famous at least in Latin America, they wore weird barroco style clothes, pointy shoes and danced with fans  8}

And this are from last week (the plane is still out of order so they came walking)  ;D
The western new duo pack, the clowns Special plus and some other series 6 mystery figures.
