Title: Rhodesian soldier
Post by: Macruran on March 25, 2014, 16:59:19
I don't know why but when I saw rolled up green sleeves and a green cap I got a bug to make a soldier of the Rhodesian Army. The colors don't match and I wanted shorts instead of trousers, so it's kind of lame, but here it is anyway:

The army of the country of Rhodesia, now known as Zimbabwe. Many of them did wear shorts:

I see! I had no idea  :)

It doesn't matter that the green colours don't match exactly, it makes the outfit interesting.

:D - to be fair that unit were commando-types, and it's hot in Africa.

Yeah but I wanted a uniform effect. Camouflage would have been even better.

Don't be afraid to add some paint.  Not sure if you can find an FN or an SMG  or GPMG in 1/18th.  I just did a quick search on ebay and yes, you can!  They are for 3 3/4" action figures (i.e. 80's GI Joes).

My old Regiment had a sister-regiment of Rhodesian Light Infantry Headhunters.

Thanks for the encouragement but my modding style is to not paint or use non-PM parts. He'll stay like this for a while before I disassemble him and put my Park Ranger back together. Though if someone was interested in going all out, I'd be willing to talk business.
