Title: TV reporter seeking collectors in Nürnberg area
Post by: Sylvia on January 14, 2014, 10:35:27
Hi all!
I received an interesting email this morning. :) (See attachment for contact details.)
TV-Report: 40 years Playmobil
Dear Sylvia,
I work for Swiss TV-channel RTS and we’re putting together a piece about Playmobil’s 40th anniversary. We’ll be filming in Zirndorf and at a factory, but we’d also like to show a big and fascinating collection. Would you mind passing on the message to your fellow collectors’ in the Nürnberg area?
Ideally, we would like someone who was ‘hooked’ from the very beginning as a child, 40 years ago, and has been collecting and playing with Playmobil ever since.
Please do not hesitate to pass on my contact details to those collectors who are interested. This will be for TV so I’m sure we can provide the collector with a DVD of their collection.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Kind regards
Julien Clin, Freier Journalist

Thanks for passing on the info. Will the TV station really be able to part with a DVD for providing needed material for millions of viewers that generates huge advertising revenues? Just wow, they are oh too kind, to think someone can have, maybe, their very own DVD of their own collection. Should we put palm frons at their feet now or later?

Daniela is the only one I know for certain is in Nuremberg. I'm sure she would know if there are others.

Just to let you know, as I am already having a TV Meeting with the Bavarian TV on Sunday, I don´t mind to make a film with the Swiss TV, too, so I´ve sent a mail.
Let´s wait and see.

Okay, dear friends!
Bavarian TV Team has left me a few minutes ago, after nearly 8 hours filming. 8}
I am down and out and don´t know my flat any longer, as all things were stuffed here and there, to make room for cameras and light.
As soon as the clip can be watched online, I will let you know. I suppose, it will be possible next Sunday.
Now I am still waiting for the Swiss Team on Thursday.

That was marvellous, thank you so much Daniela, for the link but also for doing the interview and showing some of your customizing techniques. It was very interesting to hear about how it all began for you. Your opera building (and all its figures and details) is wonderful.
I loved every minute of the video. The kids' drawings of what a pregnant lady should look like ;D And the children trying out the hotel for the first time. It was so cute when the little girl discovered the bag of money: "wow!"
I didn't know about the old worker clickies in the catalogue talking about their beer: -"That's my fifth one already" -"Not to worry, there's plenty left". Brilliant!
And I never realized children out there were asking for a Playmobil cemetery. Did I understand correctly that Playmobil doesn't want to produce a set like that because it's not international enough (different cultures wanting different types of burials)?

It looks great, and that certainly is a huge collection! I first thought that was taped in a toy store's storage room. :-[
Sadly I didnt understand all of what was said, my german isnt too great. But it seems they really captured the fun projects adult collectors have with it.
