I was wondering if there'd be any wishes or animo for a Dutch/Benelux meetup?
If so, i would like to give it a go an arrange one, maybe even with some form of show/display.

Might be nice yes, though I dont have a car so wouldnt be able to bring along much of a display. Depends a bit on the location too, if I can reach it well enough I'll be there.

There are BE-NL meetings going on again, but it seems they're mostly organised through email, and facebook as I've discovered.
I went to some of the BE-NL meets years ago and I'd like to go again, but I've the impression people I used to have contact with in the past don't invite me anymore specifically, I usually get aware of meets when they already took place.
I don't have a car and perhaps they're fed up with me having to catch a ride with them.... Or maybe it's just some don't like me that much? ???
And where I live - a village near Ghent - public transportation is organised so horribly, it usually takes me 3 to 4 hours to travel just 50 Km, by bus and train ::)

I would give you a ride even if I had to go back and forth 50 km each way - would be interesting to chat with you on the way to the meeting.

i had hoped on some more response from our fellow Dutchman and woman on the forums.
Anyway, it could go 2 ways:
- 1 a simple meeting between PM-fans in a public place
or
- 2 a smaller type of event with displays/diorama's
My preference is for the simple meetup, this could be somewhere on or near a trainstation.
Any thoughts?

How could I've missed this topic! I'd like to have a BE/ NL meeting! I do have a car and I live in Amsterdam. A location in the south of Holland would be perfect for the Dutch and the Flemish.. wouldn't it?

I really would like to meet some other Playmobil-fans. But I can't promise I'll make it since my free time is very limited with three young children and a husband who is often away from home.
When you pick a date. I can allways try.

I'd agree about something in the south of the netherlands being best. Utrecht might be pretty central, or Breda to be a bit closer to Belgium.

There is a group of BE/NL-collectors (some of which who used to be active on the forums in the past) who are setting up meetings in the south of NL and north of BE - as I wrote before - privately and through facebook.
One of the driving forces is a Belgian collector who is famous for his dioramas at Luxplaymodays, Funpark Zirndorf, and on other important occasions.
I've seen on FB that they held a meeting a few weeks ago, and they have one planned for june 2014 which will take place in Kessel, BE.
Last time I had contact with anyone was when I catched a ride to the Playmobil-exhibition in Seneffe (BE), in the spring that was if I remember well. I haven't heard from anyone since then, I only discovered accidently on FB that meanwhile there have been several BE/NL-meetings.
So, if I have to find out things accidently and no one contacts me anymore or makes me aware a meeting will take place, I don't feel much exited to participate. I don't feel very welcome and I have a feeling a person (or some persons) has (have) been spreading bad rumors about me (since years), so other collectors I meet for a first time - and often just for a brief moment - already have prejudices.
If that is the case, then they can stick their meetings and expositions where the sun doesn't shine. (pardon me language, but that's the way I feel)

fair enough, we can have our own playmofriends meeting.
Working in a supermarket at age 28 has forced me to deal with quite some prejudice as well, if theres bad rumors going around about you, perhaps it might help to dispell them? Might be good if we know your side of the story in case any of us runs into those people.

Only thing I heard is that someone I've travelled with not so long ago has some issues about my personality, but I don't know for sure if this person has talked about specifics with others, but I've a gutfeeling it has been the case. I won't claim it is so, like I said it is suspicion I have (but experience has taught me to believe what my little toe tells me).
I notice that people, especially from the Belgian side of the BE/NL-collector's community, often look at me or disregard me in a specific way, even on the moment I meet them for the very first time and when they are well acquainted with the someone referred to above.
I myself often have "issues" too about other people's personalities - friends and family included - but I try to see the positive sides of characters/personalities, and not to focus on a few things that might irritate me occasionally.
About a "Playmofriends"-BE/NL-meeting on "our" own: most here are Dutch, and only a very few Belgian (active participating members at least, not the lurkers)

I am very shocked with what I read here, I can simply not believe that some of the few playmo enthusiasts that we have are rejected in some way or another... I do not deny that it could be possible though...
I have been to 2 of the latest playmo meetings in the south of the Netherlands, and have recently been added to the facebook group. Personally I believe that a lot of members (also myself) have somewhat lost their old habits of forum use.. Last time I visited playmofriends was at least a few months ago. I do only watch pictures on klickywelt occasionally, and more recently I used PCC for the first time.
The group I met on the two meets are very diverse and as I think of it very open for everyone... I hope and believe that the situation now has evolved in innocence, I know the person who initiated the meets and he asked only people he knew by mail, and the group grew mouth to mouth a little bigger..
I will forward this to him, and I will hope we will also announce these meets on the forums we have.. we simply did not think about it, or felt we had no time.

I live in Aachen, so maybe I could go to a meeting in Netherlands.
It's been long time since I don't speak with fans of Playmobil face to face :-[

Like I said before, there are collectors all around in NL and BE (as I discover on other forums, FB, at organisations, hear about them from playmo-sellers, etc.), but they often seem to hide in some way or another.
Maybe laying some bait or setting up a booby- playmo-trap might help to get them out of the dark... ;D

There will be a Playmo meeting & event in Seneffe in Belgium in April and I will do my very best at trying to visit it as one of my dear Friend, Incador ( Danièle ) will be there as well as many Customizers from the French / Belgium / Netherlands :love:

Will there be sellers and diorama's as well? I can't seem to find any information on it, but I did find the website for the meeting (http://www.playmobelgico.be/index.htm (http://www.playmobelgico.be/index.htm)).
Since it's not even two weeks after the Factory tour in Zirndorf, I'm not entirely sure I will be able to convince Dimitris to go to Seneffe, but if it's a fair with sellers I might just have to persuade him :)
It's a real shame that these things don't regularly get announced at the pcc. It's the perfect platform for it.

PF's 18 October there's a fair in Heerde. Definitely worthwhile, I' ve been there 2 years ago and it was very well done. In my opinion better than the last fair in Breda.

Next meeting will be indeed in Heerde, this is an open meeting also for public.
Also there are small meetings with Dutch and Belgium Playmobil fans, sometimes just fore talking, sometimes with stuff to trade ore sale.
Those are fully open events, this means open to all who want to join. The rumor that those are privat en close meetings is just a rumor.
Jou know why ? small talks :-) When next meeting will have place I will post date place and time, curious who will join.
Off the record Route 66 will be in Heerde to, be prepared those dirty bikers are one of a kind !!!

Too far away for me so sadly I won't be there. I don't have a car and it will just take way too much time with public transport for my liking.

It's a bit far for me as well and with the passing away of my dad past august I still have a lot of things to deal with, so I think I won't be able to make it to the Heerde-meet/expo.

Well, not closed or privat but I do feel left aside by a (very) few people who are usually involved in those meets. (I'm not referring to you!)
If I hadn't found & joined the BE-NL playmogroup on FB, I would still be in the dark about the meets. Since about a year-and-a-half or more I hear nothing from those few with whom I had personal contact (friendship? ::) ) for the past 10 years.

With so many Friends in the Benelux area, I will have to join one of these meetings one day soon I hope :wave:
