Title: Beige Trench Coat
Post by: Salamander on September 01, 2013, 04:52:51
I need to find a beige trench coat!  The best I could find was the Series 4 mad scientist, with his long white lab coat. I have never painted any Playmobil (until six months ago, I'd never done anything more than change some hair, so I have actually made great strides, having now actually taken some apart!)

I googled, and used PlaymoDB as best as I could, but didn't find anything. I'm hoping there's something in a (current!!) theme I'm not as familiar with (safari perhaps, I think there's lots of beige or tan there, but maybe not long ones). Any suggestions?

There are no beige ones I think... AFAIK they come in different 3 molded versions with colours in white, black, grey, red and a kind of purplebrown.
There will be a blue and a green one too somewhere in the next years, but I can't elaborate about that for 5 more months (PCC-rules).

I might have a grey one.... Surely have blacks, if that helps...

Thank you both for the info!

It really needs to be beige, so I may have to give painting a try... :-\

What about the man in the 6323 western family set? is that a dark beige or is it grey? it's hard to tell from the picture.

That's a good question - it looks like it might have grey tones to it.

That made me have a closer look at the Western theme, and there seems to be a similar figure in the 5250 Outlaw Hideout http://www.playmobil.us/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=5250&showSpareParts=false&cgid=Western#cgid=Western&start=15&format=null (http://www.playmobil.us/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=5250&showSpareParts=false&cgid=Western#cgid=Western&start=15&format=null) Except his sleeves are ragged.  Judging by his beige pants, it looks like the same grey/brown coat.

Thanks for the info!

Just found Bonnie's review for 5250 and comparing it to the hat it does seem to be more dark beige than grey  :)

so presumably the one from 6323 is the same but with long sleeves.

Thanks Elaine, those pictures from Bonnie's review are much better than the ones on PM. And you're right, comparing it to the hat shows that it is more beige (though dark) rather than grey.

Of course the 5250 one at US PB has the ragged short sleeves!  :(  Is 6323 currently part of the European DS?

I have the trenchcoat-figure from the hideout and the coat is definetely grey, though not as darkgrey as the hat. (same grey has been used in other sets for this type of longcoat)

Is 6323 currently part of the European DS?

In Germany, yes. Other countries at the start of 2014.

Thanks!

I actually ventured into Home Depot today to purchase some Krylon Fusion spray paint that I've read about here in some painting threads, but they didn't have that particular brand. They had other brands, but I'll check around other stores first.

Though the thought of painting still slightly terrifies me!
