Are there any hints that the skin color used for my avi (and the surfer and "Lara Croft") will be used in other figures? Has it made it into any of the regular klickies?
-
Yes, it has...
A big pain, mostly... The maid in the hotel is that color... There's also a pirate in DS (the bald one), a kid in the hotel weird disco thingamajig... the woman in shorts from the camping (bah)...
... and plenty more... that I can't remember now :-[

I'm glad to hear it because I want more parts to play with. It's hard to tell from the website pics (I miss PlaymoDB). I wasn't planning on getting the housekeeping set because it's modern, but I do like the klicky...

IMO, it adds little compared with the complications it brings...
Do get the housekeeper - she's GORGEOUS! (we made a roman out of one ;) - unsurprisingly)
-
Personally, I find it a lot more versatile than the original skin color. [And I admit I may have a slight complex from growing up in an era when most dolls and similar items only came in "white" or "black."]
She is lovely and would morph into a Victorian with little effort. Do you have a pic of her as a Roman?

Well, whatever - what I mean is having both colors complicates customs a lot.. and it doesn't add much. It's nice, yes, but that doesn't compensate the loss.
Probably lost in the PROCESS... let me see if I can find it..
Best I found:

Ismene, if you just want one, I have an extra you can have. I bought two sets (mainly for the tools). There is an extra cart up for grabs too if anyone is interested. ;) PM me.

For me, I think it's worth the extra issues because it opens up certain possibilities, though it does require good lighting for sorting parts. I'm not quite so convinced about the "gendered" arms.
That's a nice blue skirt. Thanks for posting the pic!

Yes, one is fine. I'll send you a message.

Gendered arms were not an issue before the weird design on the skinny bodies. I AM SO FURIOUS/SAD with that.
(when I think of all the great arms that they have for those, rendered useless for the normal bodies, I wanna hit someone >:( >:( >:( )

Ha ha, I don't have any of the skinny ones yet, but I can see how that would be frustrating. Some of the fairies have great designs.

The new sets have a lot of clickies with the new skin colour: the guy driving the campsite maintenance cart, the little girl in the red rubber boat set, the woman that comes with the yellow tent, the boy and the woman from the new trailer...
It mostly comes as a surprise to me, because I can never tell from the picture on the box.

Me neither. The colors are not that similar in person. I wonder if it's their lighting or if they are making changes after the product photos are shot.

(I miss PlaymoDB).
"Find a kicky" still works but I'm not sure this skin colour is included yet (face colours on playmoDB include brown, red-brown and light skin tone, which are presumably the first 3 skin colours alluded to in your title?).

I'm glad they didnt start a new skin colour for the coming Asians...otherwise my Asian armies will have to retire enmass

As far as I can tell, the search doesn't include this skin color. But yeah, I mean the 4th normal human skin color.

Why? Real-life Asians come in more than one color.
-
4th normal human skin color yes, white skin has been around since the first ghost. I'd gues thats around the time the light brown indians where released as well.
Either way it seems like a nice addition, it provides a realistic tan to clickies. The darker brown skintone is suitable for indians, arabs and such but on blonde clickies it looks like an unhealthy tan, as if they where in the sun way too long. Brown and black haired clickies are also instantly mediteranean, arab or indian with that medium brown skintone, so for those clickies the tanned skintone is great too!

I don't count the weird ghost/alien/whatever colors. There's a lot of them, and I don't know the exact order.
It's really the most versatile skin color. It can be used for tanned Caucasians, mid-color-range Asians, Mediterranean klickies, light Middle Easterners, lighter Hispanics, lighter South Americans, assorted multi-ethnic combinations...
