Title: My most expensive purchase ever! For now that is :)
Post by: Keesinho on April 24, 2013, 21:45:22
A new haul just arrived and I was particularly happy with its contents. It cost me an arm and a leg and THE look from the wife  ::) but I think its worth it. Western fans will probably spot the reason why this one was quite an investment...

Not everything was 100% complete, but it sure came close.

- From Fort Union, both ladders are missing
- The Sheriff's office's jail is broken
- One hinge on the blacksmith is broken
- Other small bits and pieces are missing but that's nothing I won't find in my spare parts boxes.
- The rotating thingy on the well is (as always) broken
- The cannon is (as always) broken somewhere

All in all, a very good day!

nice blacksmith building, the oven is great and an item I sure wish they included in a recent mystery re-released set. The buckboard, if that is what it is called, is also a great part.

Very nice western lot you picked up.

I for some reason really like all the old buildings but not the klickies, I prefer the newer ones w/classic buildings.

Wow, great scores.  I'm super jealous.  I agree with Ras, there is something about those older western buildings.  They just have a better look than the modern ones.
Ah yes, the dreaded look.  Been there a few times when some random package arrives at the front door.  8}

Yes, I've experienced that look more than a few times ...   ;)

Very nice sets.

I am in agreement with you there Ras. When I set up a little town or diorama, I use recent klickies. But sometimes, putting together some old ones has its charm :) These old buildings are 'better' than the new ones imho. I think it has to do with the scale of them. The more recent Saloon and Sheriff's office for instance seem so big and bulky!

Great purchase

I too am fond of those ancient western buildings. Not that I don't like the assembly ones, but they do have their charm!
