Title: What can this do/attach to?
Post by: bhellman75 on April 16, 2013, 13:20:00
I want to create a balcony and wonder which of these pieces, if either, will support it and attach to a wall.  Can anyone show me what these pieces are meant to do and which would be better for my purpose?

I am not familiar with with which castle sets this brace comes with, my only experience is with the barn 3716.  It extends the hay loft out.

Those are from the 3716 Farm set. They are very useful and I only have one pair of them. They aren't currently available in any of the DS sets.

Sorry Tim, I hadn't read your reply in the other thread.  :-[

Joe,

That was helpful.  Tim's answer was about the other one, I'm pretty sure.  It looks like both braces could be useful!

Thanks!

Ben

The lower one is from the farm. The upper one is a support brace frm the safari building sets. It is half a Steck wall high. You can see them both in this picoture. The shorter ones are used in the foreground to support the bridge, the longer ones to support the porch.

You can also see the tan bit where the longer ones are in use - that's the 4 way connector from the farm

That is a great shot, Tim and explains a lot.  I've never seen the support brace from the safari set used that way.  It is very clever.  ;)

Tim,

Can I ask, what piece is the brown support that makes the bridge?  Those are great!

Well, I'm not Tim, but that is part of the houses support, as in the safari and freight stations (at least).. Really useful parts!

Some of these parts are so usefull that they come-up every time there is DS parts re-release voting. the 7400 in particular has many great parts but the farm support is also a great part to have many of.

We used the same part Tim showed on our bridge where the bridge deck meet the steck towers and it worked well. I had to put in some blue tack to keep them in due to the train motion knocking them out.

You guys make me want to get a safari set quite badly now.  :(

Definatly something that could be put to great use for both my medieval and pirate themes.

George,

Do you have other pictures of the top castle?  I want to see other angles.

Thanks,

Ben

A more sinister use of both parts... :0

There's some amazing creations featured in this thread!  I sure hope they decide to release these parts in some way through DS sets.  Seeing some of the insane Ebay prices single steck pieces are going for, it can get really frustrating when you want to locate items that would improve your creations.

That is awesome, Hadoque!

I just bought a safari set to cannibalize those wooden foundation pieces.  I'm dying to make bridges with them.
