in the french forum thy were discussing if this was a good or a bad boat.
most of the people liked it. some didn't.
there are a lot of oppinions suggesting that playmobil should look at this as an example for the production of a bigger ship.
one remark, i think, was the best one - with rear doors under the water level, you cannot expect this vessel to float.
it seems this boat is made as a copy of the "black pearl" from the "pirates of the caribbean" movie.
apparently it is made in the u.s. by the "zizzle" company. (they have a site: www.zizzle.com)
in the u.s. you can find it at the disney site costing 59 u.s.d.
in france the "king jouet" site has them on sale for 99 euros.
it is not the first boat i see that resembles the playmobil ones - i remember the peter pan / captain hook one, also made by disney ia a scale very compatible with playmobil.

It seems okay, but I am a Playmo purist. I'd rather spend my $50 on an actual Playmo ship. (Or, thanks to Andi, on Dinos! :o)

Very cool ship. Although it isn't from Playmobil I like it; especially the why it can be "opened" to be played from the inside -- very good idea (I would like that the Playmobil ships can be opened that way).

i would surely like to have one.

being a pirate's theme collector (i am missing only the latest 5778 ship) i do sometimes wish i could own geobra and decide the next boat to come.
i would rather prefer variety over size.
a big royal navy ship (like the 3940) filled with sailors and marine would be nice.
easier access to the compartments inside the hulls in the ships (without jeopardizing their capacity to float) would be fantastic.
a mall tender or dinghy with sails (like the one hadoque has in his pictures) would also be marvelous.
with a small change in moulds, this last option would be easy to produce, using the longer dinghy that alteady exists. :)

It's characteristic in French to discusse and polemize about every thing and nothing :lol:
I'll look for in my magic cave and next time I will show you another ship which look like playmobil's ship but it's not a playmobil's ship ???

btw, this peter pan pirate ship by the company "Famosa" is really nice. It's a true tri-mast ship with furlable cloth sails and real rigging. Also, coincidentally, the ratlines look almost identical to playmobil ratlines used on plamo pirate ships.
This Peter Pan ship can also be used with a "floatability kit". Without the kit, the ship is made for living room floor use only. Snap on a true sea-worthy bottom hull that comes with the "floatability kit" and the ship can not only now float in water, but it is driven by two propellers operated by remote control. The add-on hull also has wheels on it, and the remote control can steer the ship even on land! I wish playmobil would do something like this, especially for the 3286.5135 ship which could use some extra help floating IMO. Add-on RC kits are already available for fire engines and other vehicles....I wish they'd do that for the pirate ships too.
