Title: More Victorian Customs
Post by: skypurr on February 19, 2013, 23:12:56
Having made a few simple Victorian customs a few weeks ago, I got hooked! Since then I have made more, some couples and some of a mother and daughter all once again colour co-ordinated.  Hope you like them...

I love the third couple. Also, I love the black couple. It's refreshing to see some people of color in the Victorian Theme. I would love them. Do you go through DS to get the parts to make them all, or do you scrounge through old Victorian sets?

Never thought of using the Viking fur vest on a female like that. It looks lovely! 8-)
Very nice customs, Elaine. You really have a natural talent for matching colours and patterns.

How did you manage that? I tried to get that same vest on a woman last weekend (one of my warriors), and couldn't get it to fit!  :o

(never thought to use it on a fancy lady though - looks great)

Good evening Elaine

These customs are an absolute delight in their apparent simplicity, yet so colourful and vibrant

Who would'nt like to have these lovely couples in their collection  :)

Thank you all for your kind comments, I am really enjoying making these.

. Do you go through DS to get the parts to make them all, or do you scrounge through old Victorian sets?

Most of the parts are what I already had in my spares box, but  I am now looking on ebay for figures with parts that I think would be useful, although I still have quite a lot of spares to use yet.

I actually used one of these when I made a Dolores Umbridge figure for my Harry Potter display last year, but I painted that one pink and tried to make the paint on the arms rough to look like a knitted cardigan.  I wasn't sure how it would look as just a waistcoat on my Victorian lady, but when I'd put it on I liked it.

Absolutely lovely, Elaine! I particularly like the first two couples. I think my favorite is the mother and daughter pair with the mother wearing brown and pink. I love that color combination!

Each of these characters are shouting to come to life in a story or a diorama  :)

I love them all
