Title: More Scottish Ladies
Post by: skypurr on February 17, 2013, 15:03:31
Since I made Lady Georgiana McAngus and her sister Lady Flora about 2 years ago, I have wanted to make more Scottish ladies.
As I'm still raising funds to subsidise this summer's exhibition I thought that I would make some to sell.  These are the ones I have made, the auctions finish tonight and bidding seems to be going well, so I may make some more.  :)
Anyway, here are the new friends of the McAngus sisters -

Miss Green - similar to Lady Flora but with a different hat ...

Very neat custom work Elaine! Is it nail polish you used for the dresses? Congratulations on your technique, you didn't get any dust on the paint, and that's tricky. Bravo!

I am in love with these adorable Ladies

The colour combinations are beautiful and so are the matching jewels !

Not to mention the removable skirt which has an air of "now you see it now you don't"  ;)

The Scottish accent is always make feel "weak in the knees"

They are lovely, Elaine and quite clever.  I love the names you have given them as well.  The best of luck to you on the auction.  Hope they go for an outrageous price, because they are well worth it.  ;)

Thank you for all your positive comments, I'm afraid I am very critical of myself and wasn't too sure if the tartan was realistic enough.

Very neat custom work Elaine! Is it nail polish you used for the dresses?

No Arnaud, it is a paint I use for my craft work, called Luna Lights.  It can be used on a variety of materials and gives a lovely pearlescent finish.
When I painted my original figures I just used it directly on to the plastic, but this time I sprayed all the parts with a white primer.
It took at least 6 coats to achieve the finish I wanted - some colours seemed to give better coverage than others - the lilac seemed very thin and I thought it would never cover although I have used it before so knew that eventually it would be OK.
I have in the past used this paint on glass and once dry it won't wash off.

I'm pleased you like them Bonnie, I can sympathise with having no money - that's why I'm selling because I need to buy so many extra things this year.
Which one was your favourite or did you like them all?
