Title: Regluing stickers?
Post by: Ismene on February 03, 2013, 22:43:36
I recently acquired one of those victorian sailor boys with the sticker band on his hat. The sticker was peeling off. How do I restick it (especially the thin end parts) without damaging it?

I reckon you should scan it and make a new sticker. :)

I definitely did scan it (it was partially off anyway), but I have no white sticker paper.

I normally don't use stickers if they come with sets, but that is what I would do. You could probably find some at a stationary store or somewhere. :)

I'm not sure how else you could do it without gluing it permanently to the figure with some glue or epoxy. If you fancy yourself dexterous, you could always mix up some epoxy and use a toothpick to put small amounts under the peeling flaps. ;)

I'll have to look again. The closest office store didn't have quite the right paper.

I've found the glue sticks for paper work well for reglueing stickers.  Another type which works is the two-pack epoxy adhesives.

I agree with Gordon, I've also used glue sticks to great success. They hold well but can also be cleaned off the plastic if necessary without too much effort.

Okay, I'll try the glue stick first, and if that doesn't work, see if I can find the right sort of sticker paper.
