The 2013 catalogue with all the novelties (Moutain, Fairies, Camping, Asia Dragon, Shopping Center, etc) is now online on Playmobil's belgian webpage (not yet on the German one), here is the link:
http://www.playmobil.be/on/demandware.store/Sites-BE-Site/nl_BE/Link-Page?cid=ONLINE_CATALOG
Their might be some minor differences with the German 2013 catalogue.
(f.e. set 5040 "3 Black Petes" might still be a belgian exclusive, not to be found in the German one)

thanks for the info

And on the German official page, the movie about the 2013-novelties is also available:

That movie was cute.
I like how a even if it's supposed to be set in ancient time, they use radios. ;D
The combined castles make a fun looking playset.

The new 2013 products have been added (with German prices) to the official German webshop:

That's not a bad price for the Swiss chalet. I expected it to be twice that.

thank you for the info and links Hadoque

<sarcasm> oh great. now it appears I will have to be making another overseas order later this year. <end sarcasm>

sweet. i'd probably agree with you that some of us will be overcompensating for our disappointment with the dragon theme by giving more love to some of the other themes that, in a truly stellar year, might have gotten less attention but, man, it's time to brush off that critical coat and give the other sets some positive attention!
-
I know I am looking forward to all of the sets from alpine theme, even if the house is small and there is no cross. It looks like even now the sign that replaced it is gone. We want the construction themed items also. It is interesting to see the new crane is now not foldable like the old one was. The old one was neat how it would fold up into a trailer. I also do want to add all the new dragons but I think I will just pass on the castles like we did with the dragon theme. We have plenty of castles in stecks.
-
Well, hopefully the add-ons will have some great stuff.
-
in set 5480 what is that creature that is inside the castle behind the iron door? the one next to the klicky with the Hershey's kiss on his head. It look like a spirit of some kind.
Now seeing the better pictures I like the dragons more and the boat less
I must though admit the person who thought to put the little spear in the dragons had is a bit silly. "I am a dragon and I can eat you like a peanut or burn you with my breath but no I will poke you with a tooth pick"
-
I suppose February 8th is no longer the official date of information release.
Now we need instructions to get the new weapon part numbers! :)

The camping theme looks wonderfull, while I dont collect modern stuff I am sure that many that do will love it. Playmobil at its best still. :)
For some reason the old ghost pirate sets are back in the dutch DS store, not sure why. But aside from that theres also a small pirate ship there which seems to be new. Repeated clickies on the ship as far as I can tell, but the color scheme of the ship is beautifull. Just a shame those sails are torn.

If you are talking about 5238 that is the one that has the RC motor

Speaking of RC motors, I like the concept of the pirate ship with RC. Now, all I need is a pool to put a dozen of them in.

After looking over the new sets that have been shown on the website, there are a few that seem really cool to me.
5484 Armoured Dragon - This, or one of the other smaller sets, might be one of the only sets in the Asia Drachenland theme that I anticipate buying. Some of the figures aren't that bad at all from a fantasy view, but I'm not really interested in any of the buildings or the dragons. The dragon's faces are sort of strange to me, and their wielding weapons and such is also a bit weird, but it might turn out to be cool. I'd have to see one for myself before determining that. I definitely want a selection of the new weapons - the dao, composite bow, and pole-arms for sure.
5448 - Forest Fae Diana with Moon Horse - To me, this is by far the coolest of the fairy sets. First of all, the fairy is cool - though she could do without the skirt and wings. Also, the set comes with some great pieces. The horse is awesome, the fox is a great piece, and the staff and hooded bird are awesome! Forest Fae Diana is definitely the best of the fairies so far. The only thing that I am a bit worried about is the strange face, but, again, that has to be seen before I can really make a decision on it. It could always be swapped out too. :)
5409 - Axe Knight with Weaponstand - This knight has a lot of great weapons, and his armour (aside from maybe the printing on his helmet) is cool too. I really want to see how that cape works too. If it fits securely, I hope it will be made use of in different colours, since there aren't many capes that can be used with arm and chest armour pieces. The top part looks a bit off sticking out like that though.
5408 - Wolf Knight - He doesn't really seem like a knight, but it's a great figure! And I think the sleeves might be new pieces too. The high boots are cool too.
5295 - Magician with Genie - This is another cool figure, with nice clothing and details.
5293 - Celtic Warrior with Weapons and Fire - This is another cool figure, but the style of belt and repetitive green Dragonland styling aren't so great. The headband is really cool though. :)
And a few general comments:
- A lot of the instruments and pieces in the Fairy theme would be great if they weren't transparent yellow or pink. Hopefully they will show up in more realistic colours soon!
- The Fairy sets have a ton of cool forest creatures and great plants. I am hoping for some more great trees like the old Magic theme had!
- As I've said before, the Asia Drachenland theme doesn't seem that great to me, but that probably really is because I was hoping for an historical theme (though I am still more interested in European historical themes). There are some interesting looking figures and pieces in the sets, but overall, I probably won't be buying much of it.
-
Yes, I see new blue and green mushrooms, the falcon hood is back, fox with printed eyes and the baby deer with spots

Thank you very much, in love with the new mountain rescue range! How do i go about buying it though?

That is set 5901, it used to be a US-exclusive from a few years ago. It has shown up on the Benelux-pages when the new DS-items were added at the start of the year.

Besides Surprise Figures series 4 and 5 which are released worldwide in 2013, the new themes for 2013 are released in the UK (and most other international markets) one year later, so the cheapest option is to wait till next year. More expensive ways are buying sets on ebay, or in German webshops that ship internationally. The German webshops are interesting when you buy in bigger quantities, as German prices are generally lower, so purchasing multiple items then can make up for the shipping-costs.
-
Ah I kind of thought that ship may have been available before somewhere. Nice to see some of those exclusives heading this way.
Not sure yet about getting the ship or not, takes up quite some space.

"blue dragonfire" is a better translation

Have a look at the prices on the official Playmobil websites for some of the novelties... ::)
The belgian prices might give a clue for other international markets' official shops as well.
Mountain House (chalet) 5422: Germany 55 euro - Belgium 63 euro :o
Crystal Palace 5474: Germany 65 euro - Belgium 75 euro
Fairy Queen's ship 5445: Germany 28 euro - Belgium 30 euro
Asia Dragonland..
Big Dragoncastle 5479: Germany 120 euro - Belgium 140 euro :o
Secret Dragoncastle 5480: Germany 70 euro - Belgium 95 euro :o :o :o That is 35% more for international!! >:(
etc ...
Germany:

Belgium:

So why the 35% higher prices? Higher prices in Canada are usually attributed to transportation costs, taxes, large country-small population, etc. (though none of these really account for the prices... I presume it's just company policy). So why the difference between Belgium and Germany - neighbouring countries both using the euro? Same reason... company policy? Prices are set according to what the local market will bear (and minimal cross border leakage)? ...with favourable pricing in the home market. And are these prices any higher when compared to the price differences of previous years? Ah, the politics of free enterprise.
Anyway that's too bad, Hadoque... will you be crossing the border when it's time for a playmo shopping trip?

Aaaaaaaaaaand the shopping mall is... pink
The man in the video presenting the new range was very clear about which sets were for boys and which sets were for girls. Thank you for clearing that up for us.
-
Well Germany has to recover its money for supporting so many these days ;)
-
Does anyone have any idea on when the Alpin sets will be released in Germany? I may have missed that.

Thank you!! I'm going to Berlin in May, so I'll pack light and leave room for those.
