Title: 3666 roof cone
Post by: nunney on January 15, 2013, 06:09:38
hi,
does anyone know offhand if the weathervane cone from 4865 - current empire castle (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-21-7552) is interchangeable with the 3666 cone (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-07-6910)?

i have never inspected an assembled 4865 in person to see. in spite of their different part numbers, they look quite similar and i'm in need of a few of the cones for 3666 (and making the assumption that ds doesn't have stock on these any longer).

thanks in advance!

It's worth checking with DS first for the 3666 version.

thanks, playmofire & skypurr. u.s. ds has no stock on the cone and said it was entirely discontinued.

they also confirmed that the cone from the recent castle and the old one from 3666 are different for anyone who is curious.

Ahh....3666....a true classic. Must find some space to put mine up again. I still have another set from that line NIB.

Too bad as we also have many missing. Why does Geobra not keep with its old "interchangeability" program of years past. Would it have been that hard to design it to fit both roofs?

i'm not sure since i've never glimpsed te latest large castle up close but i believe the diameter of the hole is different. it is unusual as i can't see any real call for 'updating' the cone.
